Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safe, reliable and cost effective maintenance and repair of the fleet and facilities by effectively planning and managing the workshop resources to maximise efficiency and productivity, in the process ensuring that scheduled work is completed on time and within budget, making due allowance for effectively dealing with the unscheduled work that arises during the course of daily operations. In meeting this prime objective, full compliance with all Company policies and procedures are mandatory with particular reference to health, safety and environmental legislation.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

• Responsible for running and updating the vehicle inspection, servicing and MOT plans on the computerised fleet management system.
• Responsible for allocating the details of the repeat and breakdown defects to the relevant Engineering Supervisor and ensuring that adequate remedial action is taken.
• Responsible for ensuring that all vehicle records are kept up to date and comply with all company policies, procedures and legislation.
• Identify and establish reasons for poor vehicle component performance, formally reporting such incidences to the Fleet Maintenance Manager with the full facts and implications.

The R&D Packaging Engineer will be a part of the newly formed Sustainability Center of Excellence (COE) located in BD Singapore. The Sustainability COE is modeled after the Sustainable Medical Technology Institute (SMTI) and will have the same mandate as the SMTI. In this role, the Packaging Engineer will be responsible for execution of the broader R&D Sustainability strategy at BD. This individual will help integrate sustainability focus into programs for making changes to current products and to new product development programs in all 8 BD businesses.
