JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a visionary, player-centric, and creative professional to join us as a Lead Game Designer for our games vertical. In this role, you will spearhead the design and development of a diverse portfolio of RNG games, including social and mini-games, helping to shape a multiyear roadmap that will captivate players and define industry trends. You will lead projects from concept to global release, setting the creative direction of game design and ensuring the delivery of innovative, high-quality game experiences.
As Lead Game Designer, you’ll collaborate with internal teams, including artists, developers, and data analysts, to design compelling game mechanics, engaging features, and mathematical models. You will oversee the development of core gameplay elements, including pay tables and player progression systems, while ensuring designs align with market trends and player expectations.
Working closely with the creative team, you will guide the development of storyboards and visual assets, translating game concepts into immersive player experiences. You will also coordinate with development teams to implement, test, and iterate on your designs, ensuring smooth delivery according to project timelines.
In this leadership role, you’ll mentor and support other designers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes creativity and innovation. You’ll also analyze player feedback and engagement metrics post-launch, continuously refining game designs to enhance player satisfaction and drive sustained engagement.
Staying informed on market trends and competitor products is essential, as is maintaining a balance between creative vision and business objectives. Success in this role will depend on your ability to deliver engaging game experiences while adhering to regulatory standards and achieving key performance metrics.
JOB DUTIES
- Collaborate with the creative team and product manager to develop a cohesive vision and strategy for the entire games vertical, including both existing and upcoming games and ensure the creative direction is clearly communicated and understood by multidisciplinary teams, including UI/UX, creative, marketing, and development (frontend & backend) teams.
- Have a strong understanding of player psychology, behaviour, emerging trends, and preferences. Use this knowledge to scope innovative and viable in-game features and mechanics that enhance player engagement and satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of industry trends. Analyze competitor products and features to draw inspiration and identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Ideate and pitch innovative game concepts, mechanics, and features. Develop tools to conduct prototyping at a raw stage before handing over to Design and Development team. Develop detailed design documentation, including user stories, feature specifications, and process flows, ensuring clarity and feasibility for implementation.
- Gather insights by gathering player feedback through multiple channels such as workshops, beta testing and iterative reviews. Use insights gathered to refine and enhance game mechanics, ensuring they meet player expectations and deliver compelling experiences.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the game design team. Share best practices, foster creativity, and guide team members in enhancing their design skills and industry knowledge.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for game success. Monitor these metrics post-launch, analyze player data, and iterate on game designs to optimize performance and player retention.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree of Computing, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in game design, or similar roles within the iGaming or gaming industry.
- Strong sense of game design principles, theory, models and tools
- Good to have strong knowledge of RNG mechanics, mini-game features, and game math, including pay-table balancing, RTP, and volatility. Experience in player behaviour and preferences, particularly in Asian and Latin American markets, is a plus.
- Good to have solid understanding of game mathematics, including balancing, statistical modeling, and running simulations to validate game mechanics.
- Proficiency in analyzing game performance metrics to drive design improvements and ensure player satisfaction.
- Proven ability to identify market opportunities, conduct gap analysis, and design features that boost player engagement. Having shipped titles before is a huge plus.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams and align stakeholders around a shared vision.
