The Senior Data Center Planning & Development Engineer, APAC plays a strategic role in the execution of EdgeConneX’s global expansion plans. The position requires a blend of analytical, creative thinking, and relationship building skills to assess opportunities and develop recommendations that align with the Company’s growth objectives. The successful candidate will manage and drive the Engineering for new locations and provide technical advice as a subject matter expert to facilitate Executive Management’s decision-making on large-scale projects in support of EdgeConneX’s Regional expansion plans.

An industrious go-getter, the Senior Data Center Planning & Development Engineer, APAC will work with EdgeConneX’s Real Estate, Site Development, and Engineering to advise on technical aspects of various potential projects and support critical development activities such as power, entitlement, permitting, concept designs, and budgeting. The job’s duties will include visiting new properties under consideration and in due diligence to determine their environmental and physical qualities, identify technical difficulties that a buildout on that property may encounter, assess development risks, and recommend mitigating strategies -- often preparing and presenting Property Development Plans. The ideal candidate must be a quick, critical thinker with great project management skills, substantial technical knowledge, and possess an extensive network of contractors, consultants, and other resources that would make it possible to get properties development and construction ready quickly and efficiently. This position will report to the Director of Design Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify Project Risks and Mitigating strategies.

• Compile and present reports explaining project details to non-technical stakeholders

• Support discussions with local and regional authorities and government bodies.

• Develop initial Project Schedules and support initial Budgeting estimates.

• Report on project status, risk, and progress.

• Identify and leverage Contractor and Partner networks in Market and in Region that can help expedite new developments.

• Prepare high-level Project Development Plans that chart and identify critical activities through designing, building, and operating Data Center facilities on site.

Experience/Education

• 5+ years of relevant Construction and Development experience.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architectural, Civil Engineering, or MEP, with Development background required.

• Thorough Understanding of Electrical & Mechanical Systems in a Data Center will help you succeed in this role.

• Candidates with strong knowledge and experience in hyperscale data center design and construction, and those with experience in Data Center Development, Industrial Construction, and/or the Telecommunication industry are highly encouraged to apply.

Job Duties

• Reports to Project Manager.
• Overseeing the construction activities and progress, planning, implementation and monitoring work schedules in accordance to the master and detailed work programs.
• Liaise with Consultants on technical issues and coordinate the site activities with subcontractors.
• Lead a group of supervisors and ensure site progress is on schedule.
• Maintain quality standards and carry out site inspections.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, regulations, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance during project design and construction phases,resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
• Support the management of manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• Recognized Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent. PE Board recognized degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years’ experience in building or civil engineering project for senior role.
• Minimum 2 complete cycle (piling to roof) for HDB projects.
• Experience in architectural works will be an advantage.
• Technical competence.
• Knowledge in BIM/VDC is an advantage.
• Positive attitude and good team player.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency.

Job Responsibilities

• To support the construction team for M&E engineering works.
• Planning/scheduling and coordination of M&E works.
• Project coordination, supervision, and monitoring of the progress of site work.
• Coordinate M&E engineering work and work closely with other department staff to resolve site discrepancies and technical issues.
• Oversee and ensure works are carried out in accordance with the approved drawings, materials and method statements.
• Ensure quality work in order to achieve CONQUAS and/or QM requirements
• Liaise with clients, consultants, relevant authorities, and sub-contractors on M&E issues.
• Handle any other ad-hoc duties and tasks assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or related fields. PE Board recognized degree is preferred
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit or BIM software

NLP Engineer

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The NLP Engineer will report to the Senior AI Solutions Architect of LawNet Technology Services (LTS).

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an NLP Engineer at LTS, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our AI-driven products and services. We're seeking a skilled Data/NLP Engineer to join our team to develop and drive a data strategy to optimise model performance and manage the data pipelines for training and evaluating our custom LLMs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with domain experts to understand data sources, formats and structure.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and MLOps Engineers to understand data requirements for LLM training and inference.
• Engage in data engineering tasks, including data collection, preprocessing, quality control and augmentation to ensure high-quality datasets for model training.
• Develop from scratch and fine-tune both traditional NLP and LLM models on LTS cloud infrastructure, optimizing for safety and performance (measurable via benchmarks)
• Collaborate with domain experts and carry out independent research to optimise and develop product evaluation suites to measure model and product performance.
• Explore and implement techniques for mitigating bias and ensuring fairness within the training data for the LLM.
• Lead in the development and implementation of strategies for data augmentation improve LLM performance.
• Collaborate with AI and MLOps Engineers to integrate NLP models into automated pipelines.
• Stay abreast of the latest NLP techniques and methodologies, experimenting with new models and approaches to maintain our competitive edge.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of NLP models to ensure robustness and reliability.
• Document and present model development processes, results, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in NLP or related areas, with a strong portfolio of projects demonstrating expertise in data engineering and model training/finetuning.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, language modeling, and their applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face).
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and services, and the ability to deploy and manage large models in a cloud environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative and analytical approach to tackling complex challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The level of offer and appointment designation will commensurate with applicants’ relevant experience and track records. Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
