Empyrion Digital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Backend System - Automation/Process to join our growing team.

About the Role

In this leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing our data center's backend systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a Building Management System (BMS), selecting and integrating a CRM/ERM system with our global operations, and managing a technical team as the projects scale. You will collaborate effectively across various departments, including engineering, global support, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless operations within our data centers located in the APAC region.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a backend system to:
  • Identify and prioritize critical messages from logs and data generated by electrical and mechanical systems in the data center.
  • Provide real-time performance metrics for our data centers, including PUE, WUE, and other relevant indicators.
• Lead the development of a standardized BMS system for Empyrion and its integration with the chosen CRM/ERM software.
• Manage project scope, timelines, and communication with cross-functional teams, such as data center operations, engineering, finance, and sales.
• Spearhead solutions for operational challenges across our multi-data center environment in the APAC region, including unexpected system responses, design issues, and equipment failures.
• Oversee and secure our automation/controls compliance program.
• Foster collaboration among SMEs and other teams to investigate technical issues and develop solutions throughout the data center lifecycle.
• Provide leadership and support for root cause analysis of unplanned events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to offer technical expertise for facility retrofit and modernization projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum:
  • 10+ years of technical experience developing software in on-premise or cloud environments.
  • Proven experience with complex systems, such as Building Automation systems, capacity planning systems, auto-scaling/descaling systems, or other automation/control systems.
  • Solid understanding of data center operations and general environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems, analyze data, and identify root causes.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.

• Preferred:
  • Four-year technical degree in engineering or a related program.
  • Prior experience in data centers or other critical facilities.
  • Experience managing maintenance and continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience leading building controls and automation projects.
  • Experience in developing secure systems and comprehensive security programs.

Reporting to Director, Operations, RHS Office, the incumbent will Iead in developing healthy precincts and building community partnership to keep the community healthy.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead in conceptualising the overall strategy and framework for Healthy Precinct.

• Plan and operationalise Health Precincts to achieve health-social integration with internal and community stakeholders.
• Develop and track progress of workplans and workstreams on Healthy Precincts.
• Develop and operationalise plan to empower community to take care of their health.
• Create community culture to drive behavior towards leading a healthy lifestyle and emphasis on preventive care with community stakeholders.

1. Build partnership with internal and community stakeholders e.g. grassroots organisations, social service agencies and healthcare providers to keep patients and residents healthy and integrated care across care settings.
2. Develop and implement initiatives for integrated care and population health improvement.

Requirements:

Overview

Under the National University Healthcare System, the department is setting up the NUHS Institute of Clinical Quality and championing clinical quality and patient-centred care across the Group. You will support the functions of the department in the developing, implementing plans and initiatives to achieve quality and patient safety across the cluster. In carrying out the various duties, you will be required to work very closely including with the senior management, medical professionals, administrators, support staff and related external stakeholders.

The incumbent is to oversee the smooth operations and quality initiatives of the department and, the deputy director has a very important role to keep the office running and ensuring it achieves its objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Works closely with and assists the HOD to oversee the strategic plans of the office and translate goals into action items.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a healthcare related discipline. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in related organisations in large scale project coordination work.
• Good organizational development skills and preferably with good knowledge of the public healthcare setting, experience and familiarity is an important and useful attribute
• Relevant communications experience (preferably in healthcare setting) is an advantage.
• Proven people management experience with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, particularly in written communications.
• Ability to think and work strategically.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast changing environment and work under tight timelines.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, MS Powerpoint tools for data analysis, building charts, etc.
• Good numerical sense with analytical skills, meticulous and a strong problem-solver.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will work with the regional manufacturing leadership team to develop a strategic roadmap for manufacturing within the region. The focus will be on improving efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness. You will also be responsible for guiding and influencing partners to adopt lean thinking and for building or enhancing foundational capabilities in quality management systems, industrial engineering, and value engineering to ensure the on-time delivery of the right product. Additionally, you will support Nike’s manufacturing country sourcing strategies to improve product and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring smooth production line launches with high quality, low manufacturing costs, and shorter lead times.

You will also be responsible for introducing and developing new manufacturing technologies and processes to promote product excellence, boost productivity, optimize costs, and reduce lead times. They also collaborate with Nike product creation teams to refine construction standards, facilitate end-to-end digital connectivity, drive manufacturing modernization, and establish KPIs and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of manufacturing engineering initiatives and digitalization efforts.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will lead a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing System Engineers to develop and implement foundational capabilities (Lean, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Garment Engineering) and Advanced capabilities (Automation & Digitization) across Nike’s APAC supplier base. This role will report to a Senior Director, Innovation & Manufacturing Engineering based in Singapore.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Must have 8-10 years of pertinent experience in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering, encompassing Shopfloor Automation, Robotics, Tooling Engineering, Design for Manufacturing, Digital Technologies, Garment Engineering, and related areas.
• Proficiency in General Sewing Data and background in factory capacity planning & management.
• Proven track record of driving large-scale transformations, including Digital Transformation and factory automation initiatives.
• Experience leading organization-wide initiatives with multi-stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity and experience deploying Continuous Improvement Methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desirable.
• Ability to envision the future, develop strategies and roadmaps to realize that vision, establish partnerships, and implement solutions.
• Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to develop individuals and teams.
• Aptitude for collaborating with multi-cultural, multi-layered, global teams to achieve success.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coach others for development.
• Relevant training/certificates/experience: Industrial Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university; a postgraduate degree in engineering or management (MBA) is advantageous.
