REQUIREMENTS:

· Diploma/Degree in Business or Accounting

· At least 5 years of progressive working experience in a (F&B, Retail, Wholesale, Consumer goods,) group with proven management accounting expertise.

· Demonstrable knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.

· Sharp analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.

· Have a strong sense of responsibility and ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion.

· Highly organised and meticulous and able to follow through on tasks from start to completion.

The candidate will be on 9 months contract for maternity coverage (extension for up to 12 months). Reporting to the Finance Manager, responsible for the accounting for Asia Pacific including AR, financial reporting, tax compliance, vessel and bank reconciliations, company secretarial duties and management of consultants.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (What is this role responsible for delivering?)

Financial Reporting

• Prepare month-end closing in SAP.
• Review monthly vessel accounting entries.
• Prepare utilization reports.
• Analyse vessel and shore profit and loss reports and provide variance analysis.
• Oversee the fixed asset register of Tidewater Offshore Operations PTE LTD
• Assist in vendor callback.
• Assist in preparation of manual payments.
• Collating supporting documents and issuance of invoice to charterers, including liaising with charterers and accruing revenue
• Prepare/review of shore journal entries.
• Prepare journals for master cash book expenses.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors on financial audits

Billing

• Prepare and process sales invoices to customers.
• Follow up issues relating to invoicing and assigned customers.
• Monitor and follow up on collections from customers.
• Assist to ensure that sales invoices are prepared in accordance with contracts and applied tax rules (e.g WHT, GST etc) in area of operations.
• Liaise with tax department and customer on WHT tax slip collections.

Seafarer Payroll

• Review OSM Australia Pty Ltd payroll
• Liaise with manning department on errors in seafarer payroll.

Reconciliations

• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Prepare bank reconciliation.
• Prepare fuel oil reconciliations.
• Make accounting adjustments.

Budgeting & Quarterly Forecasting

• Assist finance manager to prepare vessel forecast/budget.
• Work with other departments on budgeting/forecasting
• Assists to prepare reports for reporting to Head Office and Outport General Manager

Tax Compliance

• Collate seafarer payroll information from manning department.
• Assist to prepare monthly personal income tax calculation
• Liaise with tax consultant on tax filing.
• Assist tax team on adhoc requests.

Company Secretarial

• Assist to prepare secretarial documents for SEA region (i.e. bank signatories, annual filing, company registration etc).
• Handle ad hoc requests as required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 3 years working experience, OR in lieu of degree, Diploma or Professional accounting certifications with 5 years working experience.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in SAP and other accounting software.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting/forecasting.
• Working knowledge of seafarer payroll and tax compliance in the maritime industry (preferred).
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights.

Your Role

Ledger

• Ensure accurate cost center postings from the Transport Management System (TMS) and manage direct ledger entries.
• Meet weekly and monthly financial commitments as directed by the Finance Manager.
• Monthly closing activities including journal entries and accounts-review.
• Ensure compliance to policies and standards set out by local office and HQ.
• Submit quarterly GST reports to the statutory body.
• Utilise accounting software and BI to derive insights on performance and room for improvement.

Operations

• Act as main liaison for finance-related correspondence for the Singapore office, not limited to colleagues, vendors, customers and auditors.
• Communicates professionally with vendors and customers on commitments.
• Acts as contact person on TMS and finance-related queries.
• Handles direct ledger entries for overheads and supplier invoices.

Your background

• CPA/CA certification preferred
• Comfortable covering full scope of finance ranging from operational matters to management and statutory reporting
• Minimum 3-4 years of audit background preferred. Not limited to big 4 audit firms
• Prior experience in handling/reviewing GST filings is advantageous
• Proficient in English to communicate across different teams globally
• Comfortable working with large datasets.

• Knowledge of revenue recognition and deferred revenue (or unearned Income) and the accounting treatment. Provide direction on revenue accounting guidance to business partners for specific deals as well for new products and services.
• Provide key support in all aspects of the AR function (From Sales Order/Deals to Cash collection). Responsible for all daily AR operations and month-end closing of AR accounting functions for the Singapore entity.
• Responsible for all AR collections, follow-up of overdue customer payments, preparation of useful AR metrics on AR aging and collections and bad debt provision.

• Preparation of financials for the annual statutory audit and assist with the audit management.

• Support the annual budgeting exercise, forecasting (if applicable). Participate and contribute in the Microsoft Dynamics system migration (AR module) with the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (preferred but not mandatory). Approximately 5 years (2-3 years audit and 1 commercial role), Experience in SaaS industry will be highly considered
• Strong accounting background and understanding of IFRS, audit experience will be preferred
• Experience in cross-border tax issues (transfer pricing, permanent establishment) and systems migration will be advantageous
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel advanced functions (ie.Pivot Table, VLookup).
• Commercial and business acumen. Negotiation skill and ability to develop strong working relationships.
• Good strong communication – both written and verbal
• Committed, responsible, ability to perform under time pressure, meticulous, strong organizational skills with a hands-on mentality and analytical mind
