Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Assistant/Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

The Research Assistant/Associate who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions for our Malaysia operations, ensuring that all financial activities are completed accurately and promptly. You will work closely with the accountant to manage regional financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full Set SME Accounting in Malaysia:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare and file SST reports.

• Handle audit, tax, and corporate secretarial matters by liaising with auditors, tax agents, and secretarial agents to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Manage bank-related matters by liaising with bankers to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Prepare, review, and ensure the accurate and timely submission of monthly financial statements

• Support ad hoc and other finance-related tasks as required by the Accountant

Consolidation (Conso) Reporting:

• Consolidate regional monthly sales reports.

• Consolidate regional monthly accounts receivable (AR) reports.

• Consolidate regional monthly accounts payable (AP) reports.

• Consolidate monthly cash flow reports.

• Consolidate monthly capital expenditure (CAPEX) reports.

• Conduct intercompany reconciliations

• Any other consolidated reports assigned by the Accountant

• Ensure the accurate and timely submission of assigned tasks to Headquarters

• Support all Singapore and Hong Kong Admin / Accounts Team as required by the Accountant

Requirements:

• Education: A Diploma in Accounting and relevant in the accounting field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full set accounting experience
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Autocount) and proficiency in MS Excel is essential.
• Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Malay or Mandarin is an advantage.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and generate insights for decision-making.
• Detail-oriented: High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience: Working with regional finance teams in a multinational environment.

Job Description

· Control and communicate with batching plant for concrete works.

· Site quality inspection for any on-going works at all locations for concrete works.

· Off-site and On-site quality inspection for Structural Steel works.

· Lead and supervise QC inspectors providing guidance and support to meet quality standards while overseeing daily QC inspection activities.

· Maintenance and calibration of measuring equipment.

· Document inspection results by completing reports and logs.

· Summarizing rework and waste.

· Inputting data into a quality database.

Requirements

· Certificate/ITE/NITEC/ Higher NITEC in QC/ Precision Engineering or equivalent.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages and directs staff of accountants and analysts to conduct all routine procedures and duties associated with the plant controller organization.
• Provides advice and counsel to plant operations management to ensure the optimum performance of the plant. Interprets financial data collection to influence management toward decisions consistent with company objectives.
• Set up and monitor systems of internal control consistent with direction provided by the Division controller and Manager of Tax & Treasury.
• Monitors plant credits and collections. Supervises plant cash management including collections and forecasting balances over time.
• Prepares financial projections and company status reports to divisional and corporate management as required. Coordinates discussions with Division management on financial matters.
• Identifies and implements programs that control the corporation’s financial risk, including implementation of programs established by the Division Controller and Tax & Treasury Manager.
• Develops and implements systems to control the manufacturing operation costs and maintain systems to monitor product lines and customer profitability.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.

Job responsibilities

• Responsible for the accurate processing of month end journals (inventory related) and inventory reconciliation, including analysis of Excess & Obsolete inventory and reserve.
• Tracks excess and obsolete inventory elimination by reconciling/reviewing transactions to supporting documentation.
• Reviews and analyzes inventory breakdown on a weekly basis and highlights exposure.
• Analyzes inventory revaluation at quarter end.
• Assists with annual physical counts and cycle counts, including preparation, cutoffs, audit of counts and reconciliations.
• Performs system costs update on a weekly basis.
• Reviews and ensures that inventory transactions are approved and performed in accordance with Finance policies and procedures.
• Generates and publishes labor efficiency reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Analyzes overhead data and provides explanations for variances.
• Assists with preparation of month/quarter-end management reports.
• Assists with fixed assets maintenance including additions and disposals.
• Prepares CAPEX forecast on monthly basis including reconciliation to actual.
• Assists with US GAAP, SOX and statutory audits.
