The successful candidate will work with Associate Professor John S. Ascher on environmental modeling of mosquito vectors and stinging wasps and bees and other insects of importance for public and environmental health under the CNRS@CREATE, SPACE project.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

Working with the appointment PI to validate as fit for use an existing specimen and community science dataset of insects of importance for public and environmental health, especially mosquitoes and stinging wasps. As a Senior Scientist specializing in Debonding on Demand (DoD) Polymer Chemistry, you will lead the development of advanced polymers with controlled debonding capabilities. Your work will focus on synthesizing and characterizing polymers that respond to specific stimuli, enabling precise and reversible debonding for various applications. These materials include dynamic networks, shape-memory polymers, and other stimuliresponsive materials tailored for on-demand debonding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and synthesize debonding on demand polymers with unique, stimuliresponsive properties.
• Characterize the developed polymers, ensuring their effectiveness and viability in advanced adhesive technologies.
• Apply extensive experience in literature and patent search, ideally as an inventor, to contribute to the company's intellectual property (IP) portfolio and innovation strategy.
• Lead a cross-functional team of scientists, fostering innovation and collaboration to drive progress in DoD polymer research.
• Collaborate with external R&D partners, exploring open innovation opportunities to accelerate technological advancement.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master’s in Material Science, Polymer Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in project management
• Strong background in Project Management with a solid understanding of material science, particularly in polymer chemistry and processing technologies.
• Expertise in coordinating the development of materials with debonding on demand (DoD) functionalities and ensuring their commercial viability.

Key responsibilities:

• Member of the Gas solutions team, based in Singapore.
• Actively participate in the development of BW LNG Asia and Middle East strategy for floating infrastructure (Gas Solutions) to support the overall BW LNG strategy.
