Assistant Vessel Operations Manager
· Bachelor’s Degree in Navigation and/or Ocean Engineering or related field
· Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in ship management or a related field
· Experience in overseeing complex dredging and coastal engineering projects
· Proficiency in developing statements of qualifications and proposals
· Demonstrated experience in team management
· Ability to speak Japanese is considered advantageous
This role involves providing support and oversight for vessel operations, crewing, and overall vessel management. The ideal candidate should possess experience in managing vessels within the shipping industry, strong organizational and communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with vessel and team members to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
· Ensure compliance with international and local regulations/standards for vessel management.
· Conduct cost analysis and estimate anticipated operational expenses for vessels.
· Address and resolve any operational issues or accidents with the team.
· Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
· Handle inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to vessel management.
