Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Leadership:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement robust growth strategies to enhance revenue, optimize business performance, and surpass business targets.
• Team Leadership: Lead and support sales team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages cross-functional teamwork and innovation.
Product and Market Management:
• Product Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept through launch, including market research, development, and introduction; collaborate with R&D and supply chain to ensure feasibility and alignment with consumer needs; manage pricing strategies to maintain competitive advantage and profitability.
• Sales Channel Management: Strategically oversee all sales channels including national key accounts, modern trade, and wholesale trade to maximize market penetration and sales growth.
Marketing and Customer Engagement:
• Promotion Programs: Develop and execute comprehensive promotion programs targeted at markets that value sustainable and ethically produced fruit, aiming to meet sales objectives and enhance brand visibility.
• Marketing and Brand Development: Work closely with the marketing team to implement campaigns that highlight the quality, source, and sustainable practices of the produce; ensure brand consistency across all channels; adjust marketing strategies based on performance data and market feedback.
• Customer Insights and Analytics: Utilize analytics tools to monitor product performance and understand customer preferences, translate insights into actionable strategies, and stay informed on industry trends to anticipate market needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in the tropical fresh fruit business or a related FMCG sector, with significant management responsibilities.
• Proven expertise in managing fresh fruits category for national key accounts, modern trade, and wholesale trade.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective promotional programs.
• Successful track record in leading sales teams to achieve significant business growth and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in managing diverse fresh fruits and related product portfolios and executing new product launches.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following specialized knowledge and experience in the field of Cavendish bananas would be highly advantageous:
Banana Horticultural Knowledge and Supply Chain Management:
• Banana Cultivation Expertise: Deep understanding of banana agriculture, particularly Cavendish bananas, including best practices for planting, irrigation, pest management, and harvesting.
• Post-Harvest Handling: Expertise in the post-harvest treatment of bananas to prevent spoilage and ensure quality during transportation and storage.
• Cold Chain Logistics: Familiarity with cold chain management to maintain the freshness of bananas from farm to market.
• Banana Ripening: Knowledge of and experience with banana ripening processes, critical to ensuring the bananas reach consumers at the optimal stage of ripeness.
