Development Manager (AP)
IBAP Development Managers (DM) are responsible for promoting IB programs and services to schools and school systems interested in adopting IB programmes. DMs are often thought leaders in the field, passionate about IB programs, and enjoy working with institutions (schools, universities, associations) aiming to offer an internationally minded education grounded in inquiry and multi-cultural understanding. At any given time, there are 1000 schools in various stages of becoming an IB World School (IBWS) and 100-200 in an active application for candidacy.
Responsibilities
Oversee Large Territory with Growth Targets
Current territory includes the following markets: Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, China (partial), Mongolia
• Develop and deliver annual growth plan for key focus countries (Australia) and Development countries (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau), including the planning of outreach events, events, webinars, etc.
• Develop action plans for approval by collaborating with Senior Managers to ensure action plans are implemented and executed
• Work toward a target of outreach events, therefore contribute to making a profound educational experience for students
• Initiate and nurture relationships with state elected and appointed authorities that fund and create policy for education initiatives
• Oversee relationships with Association of IB World Schools
Strategic and Action Planning
• Work with Head of Development to develop and execute annual action/growth plans
• Work with Development team to develop and deliver annual calendar of promotional activities
• Work with Head of Development to build annual budget based on standard or new ideas on how to tell the IB story and support schools wanting to become IB World Schools
Account Management
• Serve as liaison between schools and IB, including IB Authorization, World Schools, Legal, Finance, and other IB teams
Promotional Activities
• Serve as liaison with regional marketing to maximize impact of marketing efforts
• Creates and presents content at professional conferences – This content includes promotional IB and thought leadership pieces as appropriate for each venue
• As assigned by Head of Development, represent IB in meetings with key governmental officialsand partner organizations
Support IB Annual Conference
• Support IBAP’s annual IB Conference with the annual submission and delivery of breakout proposals
Requirements
· Minimum Bachelors degree
· Significant experience with the IB or schools preferred
· Extensive experience supporting schools, leading targeted campaigns, doing outreach events, or sales/presentations
· Relevant experience creating multiple strategic initiatives to increase performance and growth
· Demonstrated ability to identify and assess market segments/needs and develop strategies to enhance service and revenue
· Demonstrated skills as a collaborator and team leader
· Demonstrated competency in being stakeholder focused
· Demonstrated project management skills
· Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software preferred
· Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and databases
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Understanding of IB and its mission; significant knowledge of (or willingness to acquire knowledge of) all four IB programmes
