Duties of Buyer:

• Analyze sales and purchasing data to identify market trends and support decision-making.
• Conduct cost analysis to assess total costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and value-added services for projects.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service to manage subcontractors and place orders.
• Maintain material master data, including creating part numbers and Bill of Materials (BoM) items.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure optimal deals.
• Monitor and adjust order schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Address product quality issues, short-shipment claims, and replacements with suppliers.
• Plan and propose buffer stocks to meet project demands and ensure supply consistency.
• Perform demand planning and forecasting for projects and recurring business.
• Identify and implement process improvements within procurement operations.

Our client is an international chemical trading and investment MNC backed by a blue-chip parent co which is stable and established. It is based in town (right next to a MRT station). This MNC offers 2 to 3 WFH days per week. For this logistics officer role, your main duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Provide logistics and operational work in executing orders including liaising with sales and documentation team within the company, and with producers, shipping carriers and forwarders.
• Ensure smooth shipments and timely cargo delivery with active anticipation, analysis and planning with team members.
• Adopt a cost and risk consciousness to achieve minimum risk and maximizing efficiency in performing logistical works.

Requirements:

• Min. Diploma qualified
• Preferably have at least 2 years of working relevant logistics experience with experience dealing with producers, shipping carriers and forwarders.
• Able to work well as a team member
• Computer literate and able to use MS Excel & PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP will be an advantage but not a must
