The team's ongoing research is to develop, advance and utilize the state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with measurement and statistical approaches, to understand the mechanisms that drive the climate-air quality interactions, and evaluate the impacts on human exposure, mosquito abundance and soil acidity.

Particular interests are in investigating air quality impacts of sectoral emissions and transboundary air pollution at multiple spatial scales, studying regional climate change due to land-use changes and global climate change, and evaluating and quantifying the effects of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The team also assesses and develops emission control scenarios to provide scientific-based policy solutions for a sustainable environment in present and future years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the association between interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and air pollutants in Southeast Asia
• Develop a prediction system to forecast air quality and the risk of ILD with group members
• Work on the data collection, processing, and analyses
• Help in the ground-level observations of air quality in Singapore using LiDARs. Document the results in reports

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in speech signal and natural language processing (NLP), encompassing various areas such as speech recognition and verification, speech synthesis, speech enhancement, speech emotion and sentiment analysis, speech coding and compression, computer processing of human languages, theoretical and empirical analysis of natural language models and applications, NLP enhanced by human computation and interaction, NLP for information retrieval in web and conversational search, and large language model (LLM).
