ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Introduction

ETH Zurich is one of the leading universities of the world with a strong focus on science and engineering. In 2010 it established the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF) to do interdisciplinary research on pressing problems.

In collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Duke - NUS, the National Health Group (NHG), National University Health System (NUHS), and SingHealth, SEC is undertaking a research programme on "Future Health Technologies (FHT)". It addresses pressing health challenges by developing a Connected Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Concept that tackles the increase in patients suffering from chronic diseases such as stroke, as a consequence of a rapidly ageing population, covering the value chain from acute care to patient's private homes. Within this framework we are announcing the following job opening.

Project background

The Connected Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Module (Module 3) will develop enabling technologies that provide minimally supervised high-quality interventions via a “rehab gym” equipped with clinical intelligence. Available technologies will include new robotic devices and brain-computer interfaces that are tailored to the individual patient’s needs, linking unobtrusive technical assessments via multiple sensors with interventions in real or virtual environments.

Module 3 will develop and validate new tools for quantifying short-term and long-term rehabilitation outcomes (i.e. via specifically designed wearables, instrumented objects and automated assessments, which potentially interact with an FHT App) (Project 1), delivering rehabilitation training at all stages of the rehabilitation process and in a minimally supervised manner (i.e. via new therapy modalities using brain-machine interfaces and virtual reality (Project 2) as well as mobile and wearable rehabilitation robotics (Project 3)) and providing assistance in permanently impaired patients (i.e. via new wearable assistive robotics) (Project 4). We will, for the first time, develop and evaluate a technology-supported therapy and assistance concept for the upper extremity which spans across the continuum of care, i.e. extending from application at the bedside, to rehabilitation services provided by community centres and finally to patients’ homes. The collected data from devices across all projects will enable the identification of biomarkers for predicting recovery and treatment response, development of a personalised long-term care concept for stroke patients and estimation of social and economic long-term outcomes (i.e. value estimation).

While working and collaborating directly with our industrial partner, the main task is to support the development and translation of R&D knowledge into rehabilitation solutions.

As the Senior Operations Manager, you will manage the operations and customer service. In Charge on planning the front-end, back-end operational support in our centres.

Responsibilities

Operations at Centres and Customer Service

• Responsible for leading the operations in Write Edge to provide smooth, efficient, effective operational support for our centres.
• Plan new classes, programmes, workshops and scheduling for all centres
• Prepare for annual registration exercise
• Work closely with the Customer Service and Enrolment teams to ensure a high quality of liaison and smooth operations
• Set up a customer service team and spearhead building and excellent customer experience
• Arrange for ordering & distribution of resources across all centres
• Manage our Payment systems and student management systems
• Oversee finances for essential branch expenses

Strategic Leadership

• To provide strategic leadership in formulating, developing operational infrastructure to support programmes, events, operational needs across the organisation
• Independently managing large projects and programs, organisation design, operational excellence and transformation projects in areas such as: branding, performance improvement, cost-optimisation, cultural changes, business and back office transformations (e.g. shared service centre implementations), IT transformation (e.g. CRM implementation), etc.
• Pinpoint system, structural and process improvements across the company, make actionable recommendations and drive execution to implement change

Operational and Cost Efficiency

• Structure, develop and communicate data-driven insights and recommendations on improving operational issues at the company for senior stakeholder
• Assist in expanding the business through analysing detailed supply/demand chain/classroom optimising formula
• Support the company in measuring and achieving KPIs in planning, forecasting, inventory and cost management

Facilities Management

• To work with the Facilities Manager to provide excellent and prompt Facility Management services, maintenance to all physical branches
• To have oversight of management of budget of maintenance of existing branches and new branches
• To manage new branch opening projects and renovation work

Qualifications and Skills:

• A relevant degree/Master in Business Management/Administration, Finance Management, ICT or Computer Science equivalent
• At least 3 years in Senior Management role or equivalent
• At least 5 years in management level or similar work experience
• Experience in an educational institution preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of education institution operations, operational systems, procedures, standards and practices
• Possess good IT skills and knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Google Workspace
• Able to analyse data and statistics for trends and patterns with exceptional skills in Excel or Google Sheet
