Our client, a prominent trading company, is looking for an experienced Supervisor in Accounting to oversee key financial activities and drive efficiency in payment and closing processes. The ideal candidate will co-approve critical payments, take the lead in monthly and quarterly closings, and ensure compliance with internal controls while guiding a talented accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as co-approver for payments and related tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions, with a focus on ongoing process improvements.
• Act as the main approver for journal entries and other key tasks to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closings, while continuously enhancing the efficiency of these processes.
• Act as the main or supporting Person-in-Charge (PIC) for J-SOX and GST, ensuring smooth compliance and reporting, and managing both internal and external auditors effectively.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team in their roles as co-approvers for payments and main approvers for journal entries, supporting business operations as needed.
• Collaborate closely with business and corporate divisions to ensure compliance with internal policies while supporting broader business development activities.
• Lead and manage ad-hoc projects within the department as required.

Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Operational Accounting, including Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, with experience in approval or review responsibilities.
• Proficiency in SAP with strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively within a team and possess excellent communication skills.
• Self-driven with a strong sense of independence and initiative in improving work processes
