Sequence SG seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Associate / Senior Associate to manage comprehensive financial processes and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will handle full accounting responsibilities, lead reporting and guide the accounts team. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong financial acumen and the ability to oversee various financial functions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting transactions and prepare and update financial statements that can withstand audit scrutiny, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Equity Statement, General Ledger, and Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable (AR/AP) for entities such as companies and partnerships.
• Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements, Financial Reports and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Ensure timely bank payments and bank reconciliations, AR/AP reconciliations
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of GST, annual tax returns, and other statutory filings.
• Review tax computations and liaise with tax agents to manage the tax filing process. This includes preparation and practical filing on GST/VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax (ECI, C, CS, CS(Lite), NOA, Personal Income Tax, Stamp Duties (Share transfer etc.)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulatory bodies
• Preparation of corporate secretarial resolutions, notices, letters, declarations, consents, minutes
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, corporate secretaries, and government authorities to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of our accounting app and automation tools to improve efficiency and streamline financial processes.

Requirements:

• Possess a degree in Accounting or a relevant discipline, along with professional accounting qualifications such as ISCA, ACCA, CA, or CPA
• Possess 3-5 years of working experience in Accounting, Tax and Audit in Singapore
• Proven experience managing a full set of accounts, with strong knowledge of GST regulations, Statutory requirements, Singapore Taxation and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Responsive and organized, proactive and strong pride in one's own work

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions within the Finance & Accounting department, ensuring good financial health, accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Job Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree in trading, economics, finance, accounting or relevant fields.
• At least 13 years working experience in finance and accounting related roles, of which at least 8 years have been in finance leadership positions.
• Preferably to have or have had extensive experience in Commodity and/or Energy Trading companies.
• Has excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills. This includes being able to develop commendable working relationships with different stakeholders of all levels both internally and externally of the Company.
• Highly adaptable in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Possess strong business acumen and numeracy skills complemented with having the experience in being able to comfortably connect and align finance strategies to business strategies and priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities

Due to business needs, we are now recruiting a Accounting and Tax Manager to be part of the Accounting team for expansion.

The Duties of Head of Accounting and Tax:

· To manage a team of 5 accountants with a large client base in industries such as manufacturing, research, retail, construction, property, oil & gas, charities, investment, metals, design, consulting, and start-ups.

· To ensure that we provide accurate information to our clients and the local authorities so that all their statutory obligations are met; these includes filing tax returns with IRAS and Financial Statements with ACRA

· Bookkeeping and oversee daily accounting operations, including month-end closing procedures, audits, and annual reporting for a portfolio of blue-chip clients.

· Conduct bank reconciliations and forecast cash flow to maintain financial stability.

· Manage payroll operations and assist in budgeting and cost analysis.

Desired Experience

• Hands-on experience with MS Excel, XERO, MYOB, SAP, Payday and any other accounting software is a plus.

• Perform day-to-day fund accounting activities, including NAV calculations, portfolio reconciliations and fund reporting
• Maintain accurate books and records for the firm's investment funds
