CNRS@CREATE is looking for a Research Assistant (part-time) to join our SPACE project team.

SPACE PROJECT

The SPACE project is developing a research protocol for infectious disease prediction and prevention in Singapore. The project draws upon analyses of the risk factors and sociospatial patterns that drive dengue and COVID-19 transmission in Singapore, as well as the social and technical skills developed by individuals and community groups in response to disease propagation. Combining insight from the social sciences (geography, architecture and urban design, communication, economics, sociology, public policy) with biology (epidemiology, entomology) and computer science (artificial intelligence, biostatistics), the project will use the concept of “adaptive capacity” (AC) to explore the potential of community-based “latent social capital” (i.e. human, cultural, political, and social) as key assets for adaptive responses to health challenges related to dengue in its interplay with COVID-19.

The project brings together 23 researchers, 10 from France and 13 from five Singaporean universities (NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU and SUSS). The research will be conducted in several residential areas of Singapore.

DESCRIPTION

Qualifications

Research by Design (RxD) at the Department of Architecture seeks qualified, interdisciplinary, and inspirational candidates with expertise in creative practice research (research through design, as opposed to research for design or research about design). We seek candidates with expertise in design with foundations in decarbonized & planet-positive futures, warming world futures, social justice, and inclusive futures, with a particular focus on being situated in the tropical geographies of Southeast Asia and the equator. Candidate research should be manifested through a robust portfolio of creative practice outputs and substantiated through forms of peer review and public and societal engagement, with evidence of leading with anticipatory and future-forward design ideas that impact evolving society and the profession. Strategic Planning & Supply Pipeline Development

Supply Matching and Stakeholders Management

This entails having a good understanding of the infrastructure specifications and configuration of each space and its ability to meet the intended requirements and operations, including regulatory compliance.

Tenancy management
Coordinates, negotiates and establishes or renews tenancy for A*STAR spaces, considering various factors, such as terms and conditions offered and overall cost competitiveness. Serves as contract manager for various A*STAR tenancies.

REQUIREMENTS

· Background in Civil Engineering, being a Registered Professional Engineer, with minimum 5 to 8 years relevant experience in the real estate consultancy/marketing. Experience in managing R&D space planning would be advantageous.
