We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented research assistant/associate to work on research focusing on identifying novel therapies for treatment of acute myeloid leukemia in the laboratory of Dr Shruti Bhatt at the NUS (http://pharmacy.nus.edu.sg/tenure-track-faculty/). The candidate will be an integral member of our research team and will work under the direct supervision of Dr Shruti Bhatt (https://pharmacy.nus.edu.sg/team/asst-prof-shruti-bhatt/) to support ongoing studies including identifying clinical response to targeted therapy in leukemia using BH3 profiling. Opportunity to perform high-throughut chemical screens on cell lines and patient-derived tumor cells. We are looking to hire someone who is interested in doing wet lab experiments. The candidate will be trained in the lab however, prior experience will be given first preference.

As a Healthcare Assistant at My Queen, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to mothers and new-born infants during their stay with us.

Job Responsibilities

Baby care duties include:

• Cleaning, bathing and changing of diapers
• Assist in feeding of babies
• Taking note of babies’ temperature, feeding pattern, mental/physical behaviour, and/or other necessary information
• Monitoring of babies’ growing progress
• Guide parents in infection control and baby safety measurements
• Ensure Baby Safety
• Umbilical Care
• Oral and Eye Care
• Assist in any other duties as required by the supervisor or manager

Mummy Care Duties Include:

• Monitoring of Mummies' recovery progress
• Guiding mummies in breastfeeding
• Guiding mummies in baby care techniques
• Assist mothers in understanding and coping with postnatal conditions
• Assist in any other duties as required by the supervisor or manager

Working Hours

• 2 x Morning shifts (preferably 1 weekend and 1 weekday)
• 11 hours each shift (8am to 830pm inclusive of 1.5 break time)

Location

Located within Oasia Hotel, Sentosa (Right beside Imbiah Station)

Salary

from $120 per shift onwards

• Subjected to experience / qualifications
• Higher hourly rates for Weekends & Public Holidays

Job Requirements

• Singaporean and PRs only
• Strong mindset to remain calm and patient
• Physically fit to carry out daily tasks of carrying infants, and standing for long hours.
• Relevant experience would be good
• Preferably able to commit twice a week
• Preferably able to work on Weekends & Public Holidays

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sample Preparation

• Receive, label, and account for all samples entering the lab.
• Prepare samples through drying, crushing, splitting, and pulverizing.
• Mix fluxing reagents and load samples into the furnace for fire assay.
• Perform smelting and precious metal extraction, particularly for gold and silver using fire assay techniques.

2. Testing & Calibration

• Monitor and manage analytical processes, ensuring the quality of results.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies or equipment malfunctions, reporting issues to the Lab Manager.
• Perform data analysis and validate the technical accuracy of analytical results.
• Re-analyze samples as needed to meet quality standards.

3. Quality Control:

• Inspect samples, fusions, and assay results for accuracy and adherence to methods.
• Maintain comprehensive records of materials and equipment.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and procurement of necessary supplies.

4. Laboratory Housekeeping & Safety:

• Ensure a clean and organized work environment, maintaining equipment and work areas.
• Comply with safety protocols and regulatory requirements, promoting workplace safety initiatives.
• Assist with waste disposal and maintain proper handling of materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Respond to emergency situations effectively and assist in maintaining emergency readiness.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of safe handling practices for industrial chemicals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
• Physical capability to lift 10kg bars of precious metals.
• Prior experience in selecting and setting up equipment and processes for the recovery of precious metals (e.g., gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium) is highly advantageous.
• Experience with operating ICP or XRF nstruments is preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

• Salary: $2,500 - $3,300

• Closely collaborate with Project Manager and Engineers to support the fulfilment of contract obligations within timeline, cost and scope

• Manage and oversee project documentations and subcontractor matters

• Perform system setup and resolve technical issues

• Basic setup of network switches and able to perform network check.

• Testing of products in indoor/ outdoor environment

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechatronics/ Electrical/ Electronics / Computer Science / Computer Engineering in Information Technology, Information Systems, IT Security or equivalent

• Basic understanding in physical security system

• Knowledge in any of the following will be a strong plus:

i) Setup Operating System, Network System, Wireless System

ii) Setup Security System e.g. Intrusion Detection System, CCTV System, Access Control System.
