Qualifications

Research by Design (RxD) at the Department of Architecture seeks qualified, interdisciplinary, and inspirational candidates with expertise in creative practice research (research through design, as opposed to research for design or research about design). We seek candidates with expertise in design with foundations in decarbonized & planet-positive futures, warming world futures, social justice, and inclusive futures, with a particular focus on being situated in the tropical geographies of Southeast Asia and the equator. Candidate research should be manifested through a robust portfolio of creative practice outputs and substantiated through forms of peer review and public and societal engagement, with evidence of leading with anticipatory and future-forward design ideas that impact evolving society and the profession. We are especially interested in candidates who are leaders in Research by Design methods in the academy and who leverage creative practice to imagine and manifest a more just world.

Successful candidates are expected to teach and lead design studio courses related to research by design, with core, elective, and seminar courses to complement the design studio.

Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the design and development of analog building blocks, including amplifiers, integrators, switched capacitor circuits, regulators, bandgap circuits, Delta-Sigma ADCs, SAR ADCs, filters and control logics etc.
• Responsible for top-level integration of high performance mixed signal chips including analog front end signal acquisition and conditioning chips and analog front end battery monitor chips etc.
• Work with digital team to define register maps, control logics, digital filters for analog front end chips or mixed signal SOCs etc.
• Conduct periodic design reviews.
• Support test development and product development teams in bringing projects to production.

Requirements:

• Degree/Master/PHD in Electrical Engineering or Microelectronics with excellent technical background in analog /Mixed-Signal design.

Work in a fast-pace dynamic environment developing complex semiconductor equipment. This is a collaborative, multidisciplinary group focused on designing groundbreaking metrology products. Design state of the art mechanical sub-systems and perform first-principal analysis for sizing components. As a key member of a multidisciplinary R&D team, the successful candidate will be expected to understand system-level function, performance & requirements, work closely with different parties, to support the business priorities and product development roadmap.

The job duties of System Design Engineer include but not limit to:

• Design, assembly, test, analysis, and characterization of optical systems, especially interferometry, illumination, and sensing systems.

We're looking for a Freelance Art Facilitator to support inclusive art sessions for a small group of 2 - 4 special students with Mild Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) to design simple marketing collaterals on canva.com together with an on-site School Vocational Coach.

This role's commitment is once a week on either Tuesday or Thursday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm with an hour lunch break.

This role supports equipping these unique individuals with real-life work situations for their careers with experience and improving their interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate weekly Canva.com design sessions for 2 - 4 special students.
   
2. Offer individual help together with a Vocational Coach for a positive learning experience.
   
3. Communicate with learners and share to encourage them and facilitate them on how to improve their canva.com designs
