The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

Class Engagement:

• Plan, prepare and carry out an effective routine-based intervention programme for the class to meet every child's IEP
• Work towards functional outcomes of the child through child engagement, embedding of naturalistic strategies, differentiation of prompts, behavioural intervention techniques
• Carry out recommended therapeutic strategies as part of the transdisciplinary team
• Prepare age appropriate teaching resources based on children's interest
• Maintain a respectful learning environment for the children with the practice of positive discipline by treating all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences
• Be familiar with and adhere to the programme policies, health and safety regulations and emergency procedures and be ready to implement these if necessary

Working in Teams:

• Supervise and be responsible for Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides under their respective grouping
• Mentor Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides in the areas of classroom management, basic teaching strategies, and behavioral intervention techniques
• Meeting with Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides regularly for allocation of roles in the classroom, brainstorming, planning and preparation of activities and resources.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals for their Teacher Aides
• Participate actively in cluster discussions
• Be involved in at least two event planning
• Buddy new teachers
• Conduct sharing sessions to share the knowledge acquired during external trainings

Management of Processes:

• Maintain timely submission and updates of all required teachingrelated documentation
• Conduct both home and school visits based on needs
• Conduct parents-teachers meetings, pre-cases and case conferences

• Degree or
• Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching/ Early Intervention/ Special Education
• 1 to 3 years experience working with families and children

• Mature, independent, creative, flexible thinking and able to motivate children
• Good people skills
• Able to work independently
• Has strong understanding of the diverse cultures and races
• Has patience, love, passion & commitment in the education of & nurturing young children and empowering the families
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Keen to develop professionally

Your Responsibility

• Provide guidance and mentoring to new teachers.
• Implement initiatives to improve quality and consistency in teacher’s teaching practice.
• Ensure curriculum materials and lessons plans are aligned with the latest syllabus for your discipline subject.
• Supporting teacher in the lesson delivery of the curriculum through the development of clear teacher reference notes and materials and conducting teacher's syllabus workshop.
• Teach classes in a small group sizes between 6-10 students based on Explorer Academy’s teaching materials.
• Conduct student consultations during your working hours for students who needs extra academic support.
• Provide regular feedback and updates to parents on the student’s progress.

Working hours

• 4 weekdays + 1 Weekend

Job Requirement

• Have prior experience mentoring teachers and managing a team.
• Have prior experience in teaching science
• Familiar with the Singapore MOE primary/secondary school syllabus
• Degree in Science or Education related courses
• Is a resourceful problem-solver, capable of managing projects end-to-end
• Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passionate in teaching and mentoring students
