The Data Center Plan & Spec Manager is a newly created role responsible for close collaboration with the data center design consultants and owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC needs and will be responsible for creating technical and budgetary proposals as well as conducting life cycle analysis. This role involves establishing and developing relationships with data center HVAC consulting firms while implementing plan and specification strategies tailored to promote our solutions.

This role presents a great opportunity to progress into a regional role by getting involved in regional projects whilst working in a country setting.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with data center design consultants and owners.

• Understand and analyze HVAC requirements to create compelling technical and budgetary proposals.

• Conduct life cycle analysis to ensure the long-term efficiency and effectiveness of proposed solutions.

• Regularly track and update the pipeline of prospective projects and implement strategic plan and spec initiatives.

• Promote and pitch Carrier products and solutions to HVAC consulting firms and data center owners.

• Coordinate across regions and work closely with cross-functional teams including factory, engineering, and data center core business leaders.

• Provide regular updates to the Data Center core team on plan and spec activities and maintain accurate records of the pipeline.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge and expertise in HVAC systems with an emphasis on data center applications.

• 5 to 10 years of experience in engaging with consultants in the HVAC field and data center industry.

• Proficient understanding of applicable HVAC codes and standards.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams across various regions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.

• Customer centric thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective HVAC solutions for data centers.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in reading electrical and ELV schematic diagrams.
• Coordinate with Clients/Sub-Contractors on project and maintenance matters for smooth site execution.
• Review contract specifications and prepare variation orders as required.
• Perform engineering design, load, and fault calculations.
• Resolve technical issues related to installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and standards.
• Attend site meetings to discuss and resolve issues with Clients/Sub-Contractors.
• Assist Project/Site/Construction Manager in monitoring project progress.

Requirements:

• Minimum ITE in Electrical Engineering or equivalents.
• Experienced in project management for industrial and commercial projects.
• MRT project experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of design phases or street lighting work is a plus.

Education

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences or similar industry, with demonstrated hands-on experience in solution architecture and information system designs
• 10+ years of experience in leading development squads/ teams in global environment
• Strong understanding of enterprise, solution and information architecture principles
• Domain knowledge of technology for supply chain management including data and analytics platforms, ERP solutions, supply chain planning, warehousing, distribution and logistics

Job Description

Business Development

· Prepare Standard Quotation Forms for Cost Estimation in line with tender scope/summary

· Assist BD in preparation and submission of tender documents (e.g. Fill-in Tender Forms, Contractors particulars & Technical Data (Upon receipt from PICs) as per Tender Format

· Prepare Hard Copy/Soft Copy of Bid with necessary supporting documents as per submission requirement as instructed by BD

· Quantity take-off, materials sourcing, measuring, and estimating materials and labor costs used in the tendering process.

· To request for quotation and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for various trades.

· Oversee of review contracts, identify irregularities in order to ensure compliance of contracts and the drawings.

· Prepare and analyze costings for tenders

· Assist to prepare tender and contract documents including bill of quantities

· Perform quantity take off for tender

· Prepare costing and budget, pre and post-tender estimate

· Prepare and compile tender documents

· Attend site show round/ tender briefing

· Manage the financial & contractual of all projects from pre-tender stage including quantities, variations, cost estimates, to tender submission;

· Monitoring and keeping track on Contract Insurances details (e.g., expiry date vs project actual completion dates/ indemnity liabilities of stakeholders, etc.)

Administrative

· To provide support to Business Development (BD) team by carrying out general administrative duties.

· To assist and maintain proper and systematic documentation e-filing system for outgoing and incoming data.

· To support and use of company internal ERP system to execute daily tasks.

· To manage and track status of Project Quotation and Project Registration on company’s ERP system to ensure data are up-to-date and properly captured in the system.

· To provide additional administrative support for team members as needed.

· To follow and ensure compliance to company BD&P policies and procedures.

Requirements

· Diploma / Degree in any discipline, preferably in Construction/ Contract Management of Quantity Surveying, Engineering, etc

· At least 3 years of relevant experience in M&E contract administration

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

· Meticulous, proactive and good time management

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Good team player with ability to work independently
