The Senior Optomechanics Engineer is responsible for design and performance improvements of opto-mechanical systems at Transcelestial, specifically our ground-based laser communication devices. This position is part of the Hardware Team, led by Max, Transcelestial’s Head of Hardware Engineering. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare/assist with development of functional specifications.
• Prepare/assist with budget costing.

• Minimum 5 years of service experience in control engineering / industrial automation (conveyors) / maintenance of plant/machinery/material handling equipment
• Experience in electrical drawings design (EPLAN, EEC One, AutoCAD)
• Experience interfacing materials handling systems with third party equipment’s (e.g. automatic tag readers, barcode scanners, weigh scales etc.)
• Experience in PLC software development and office testing, particularly Siemens S7 and SCADA WinCC
• Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs, variable speed drives and safety devices
• Experience in development of testing environments and conducting FATs
