We are looking for an experienced clinical monitor to perform the study monitoring in ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases Network (ADVANCE ID). ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously develop its capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active network that involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response in the event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

This role has an extensive reach and must have a self-motivated individual with excellent critical thinking and risk based approach over technology and operational/market risk matters.

Role attributes:

- Predictive signal modeling and implementation via machine learning techniques and statistical analysis methods;

- Create and implement mathematical/statistical modeling techniques to new and existing trading strategies;

- Identify and capture new trading opportunities;

- Automate any remaining human lead trading decisions;

- Collaborate with Software Engineers on Trading Strategy implementation.

Requirements:

- Python, Modern C++ at expert level is a plus;

- A degree in a top university in a technical discipline. Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in any STEM course (physics, statistics, computer science, engineering, mathematics) with a focus on statistics and/or machine learning;

- Experience applying machine learning algorithms and traditional statistical algorithms to market problems in a timely manner;

- Experience handling large data sets;

- Strong problem-solving and statistics skills;

- Ability to work in large and small teams, very good communication skills and ability to debate own ideas and peers’ ideas in a productive/healthy way.

You will assist in achieving the Division’s vision and mandate by developing and implementing operational strategies, that will:
• Lead Division of Surgery & Surgical Oncology (DSSO) towards cutting-edge of academic medicine.

• Accurately abstract relevant data and translate the principal diagnosis, secondary diagnoses and surgery/procedures of all inpatient and day surgery discharges into ICD-10-AM codes from discharge summary/case notes/operation reports/histology reports in accordance with the national and hospital coding standards within the stipulated time frame for DRG and medi-claim coding
• Interact closely with clinicians for clarifications/confirmation/feedback on documentation of principal diagnosis, secondary diagnosis and surgery/procedure/treatment if necessary that may affect coding accuracy and correct subvention
• Keep abreast of latest coding standards and update coding knowledge/coding skills
• Manage and track daily uncoded/coders workload report
• Work closely with the supervisor so as to continuously improve the current work processes in Clinical Coding office

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical/Nursing/ Health Science or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology/procedures
• Relevant ICD coding experience is preferred
• Meticulous and thorough in reading through clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently and also in a team
• A target-oriented team player with initiative and positive work attitude
• Excellent communication and writing skills
