The Assistant Clinical Training Co-Ordinator (ACTC) will work closely with the Clinical Training Co-Ordinator (CTC) to co-ordinate and monitor the assignment of patients to BDS students during the clinical phase of their training. Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for Executive / Senior Executive (Clinical Research Officer) who is self-motivated, proactive in problem solving and a strong team player. The candidate will be part of the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study team, a flagship Singapore population health study jointly conducted by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London. We aim to profile the health and behavior of up to 10,000 people from the general Singapore population over the next few years. We are conducting (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) biomarkers for chronic diseases.

The candidate will play a key role mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Take participants’ informed consent for study, verify eligibility and systematically performing drug and supplement verification.

• Assist in collection of biological samples for research.

• Assist in conducting health and lifestyle questionnaire, dietary and/or cognitive assessment.

• Perform physiological assessment according to Standard Operating Procedures and record measurements. These physiological assessments include body composition, lung, eye, skin and heart function using sophisticated medical devices (training will be provided)

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a full-time Executive/ Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer (Biobanking) for the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study. This study is undertaken jointly by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London (www.healthforlife.sg). It aims to profile the health and behaviour of people from the general Singapore population. The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our biobanking team to allow the study to reach out to more people.

The Clinical Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Receive and process biological samples for banking purposes; with accuracy and in a timely manner without compromising sample quality.

• Assist in frozen sample retrieval and sorting.

• Perform nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) extraction and quantification.

• Perform daily routine measurements on analytical systems.

• Monitor quality standards by verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance, running daily quality controls and calibrations.

• Perform general administrative work such as tracking the supply of daily consumables and coordinate with vendors/suppliers on procurement matters.

• Able to commit to rotating shifts; afternoon shifts on weekdays, and on Saturdays.

Training will be provided to level the skillsets needed to perform these roles.

• Provide managerial leadership to the Anatomic Pathology and Histology (APH) team and oversee day-to-day operations and on-time delivery of histology testing services

Requirements:
