Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee and manage all contractual aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract negotiation, risk management, and project management, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations. This role is critical in safeguarding the company’s interests while fostering strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions for construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, laws, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with legal advisors, project managers, and stakeholders to manage contractual risks and resolve disputes.
- Monitor contract performance, identifying deviations from the agreed terms and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare and submit contract-related documentation, including variations, change orders, and claims.
- Conduct regular contract audits and reviews to ensure adherence to deadlines and deliverables.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on contract-related issues, ensuring clear communication and understanding of terms.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and changes related to projects.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids/quotations and proposals, assisting in the selection process.
- Train and mentor junior staff on contract management best practices.
- Promote Subcon excellence and maintain good and strong relationships with the sub-contractors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or other related fields.
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and legal regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
