We are seeking an individual with architectural technical experience for the position of Mechanical Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations.  The candidate will work directly with the Mechanical Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the six-year design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc are complete, ready and approved for Mechanical Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on working with the Mechanical Project Manager who is managing the Mechanical Subcontractor field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.  

It is expected the candidate will be a very detail-oriented individual with previous experience working as an Mechanical Project Engineer on data center projects and or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and ensuring installed work in the field are in compliance with such documents.  The candidate must have strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. • In charge of pre-project planning and advice on the measures to take in areas on noise/water/air pollution control, waste/pest infestation control, and public/neighbors’ engagement and management

Job Requirements:

• A Registered ECO with NEA
• A Registered ECMO with IES
• Attained Specialist Diploma in WSH or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience as ECO for LTA projects
• Experience in civil works (road and viaduct) & ASAC awards preferred
• Proficient in GGBS requirements/implementation and ISO14001:2015 standards
• Proficient with MS Office

• Reports to Design Manager
• Responsible for geotechnical design / construction.
• Coordinate all design-related matters with client / design consultant / subcontractor / specialist / construction team.
• Review the geotechnical design calculation & reports & shop drawings
• Manage the schedule of all design item as per construction program

Job requirements:

• Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent, while Master degree holder in Geotechnical engineering is an added advantage
• Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in an MNC A1 construction firm, inclusive of experience in vehicular structures and road projects of similar scale and complexity is required for this position
• Experiences in soil investigation, instrumentation and improvement design is required.
• Pile foundation, load testing and integrity testing knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in FEM analysis application & Geotechnical engineering design (Plaxis, etc.)
• Good communication skills
