JOB PURPOSE
The candidate will identify, explore, and develop existing and new key initiatives aimed at strategically expanding the Department’s offerings as well as maintaining and growing a pool of dedicated volunteers.
The candidate will spearhead diverse initiatives to address the unique needs of different demographic groups. He/she will play a vital part in planning, managing and effectively implementing various community-based programmes.
For the Elderly:
â—Ź ElderAid: Oversee and improve the Community Befriending Programme, aiming to reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience among isolated seniors through home visits, social outings, care packs, and assistance referrals.
â—Ź HoME+: Coordinate administrative and operation functions for the HoME+
service/program, emphasizing strategy development, community partnerships, and staff/volunteer empowerment.
For Families, Children and Youth:
â—Ź Meals with Love: Manage the Meals with Love programme, providing food vouchers to vulnerable families islandwide, prioritizing those with potential to break reliance on social service assistance.
â—Ź Young Hearts (YH): Lead and expand the YH Programme, empowering children and youth from lower-income families through tuition, workshops, outings, and mentorship, with a focus on community engagement.
For the Migrant Community:
â—Ź Community Health on Wheels (CHoW): Contribute to CHoW, a volunteer-led mobile healthcare initiative focused on delivering free health services to marginalized communities, with a special emphasis on migrant workers.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Programmes Development
1.1 Plan, organize and execute programmes and activities relevant to the communities
1.2 Research and analyse past data and current sector climate to identify challenges and opportunities to align the organisation and department’s goals
1.3 Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement plan aimed at expanding the department’s community-based strategies
2. Stakeholders Management
2.1 Proactively undertake community engagement activities to build greater awareness of Singapore Red Cross Society’s local services
2.2 Establish a strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to beneficiaries, donors, volunteers and community partners
2.3 Provide regular and relevant updates to the management and other internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
2.4 Represent the organisation and department at public and external events as required
2.5 Manage, mobilise and multiply our pool of volunteers and partners
3. Operations Management
3.1 Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce workflow, and enhance efficiency of the programme team
3.2 Participate in department and society-wide events when necessary
3.3 Undertake relevant administrative tasks, including but not limited to creating and maintaining databases, undertaking reporting and auditing tasks, presenting data findings and recommendations to the management team etc.
JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Experience and Skills
1.1 Two to four years of relevant working experience in social services;
1.2 Educational qualifications in social work, humanities, social sciences, social services, counseling, or related fields would be an added advantage
1.3 Ability to professionally communicate and engage with people from all walks of life
1.4 Self-motivated with leadership qualities and willingness to work in a team
environment
1.5 Possess high analytical and problem-solving skills
1.6 Exhibits maturity, sincerity, and passion to work with donors, community partners, volunteers, as well as the people in the community who are facing challenges
1.7 Ability to work on weeknights and weekends when required (time-off provided)
1.8 Business-level proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Applications
1.9 Ability to speak a few languages or dialects would be an advantage
