Job purpose:
The Product Service Technician will work through tasks for specific product line scopes in the form of job cards. Tasks include cleaning, disassembly, servicing, greasing, assembly, and function testing, of mechanical and electrical systems on a marine craft. This includes diesel engines hydraulic, and networked systems. Some degree of fault finding, reporting of progress, and defects will be expected using an extensive range of engineering and operational skills/methodology.
Once the maintenance scope is completed craft will be returned to an operational state to the customer whilst another cycle kicks off.

Principal Accountabilities:
· Be available to report for duty at Changi Naval Base/JFD workshop in accordance with task planning.
· Supervise and conduct the planned maintenance and defective technical activities for the marine systems in accordance with approved technical manuals, plans, and procedures. An ability to read technical drawings and procedures.
· Applying knowledge and experience to delegated maintenance tasks.
· Attention to detail while working across a range of tasks and systems.
· Accurate reporting and planning to support production scheduling. Must display good time management.
· Professionalism displayed is the conduct, behavior and attitude. Maintain a productive working relationship with the customer.
· Ability to work independently without supervision when under stressful situations.
· Demonstrate a willingness to participate in the Company’s Quality Management System
· Demonstrated commitment to following safety procedures and upholding a positive safety culture.
· Assist in maintaining and keeping up to date a technical library of publications, manuals, procedures, and drawings as appropriate. Reporting of discrepancies.
· Develop, regularly review, and maintain risk assessments and safety-related documentation of the system.
· Assist the Project lead with the planned maintenance and defect rectification activities.
· Liaise with the Project Lead in respect of all QA and Safety issues.
· Apply strong leadership and communication skills to influence and enforce a positive safety culture.
· Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Project lead.
· Performing functional checks on the craft while deployed in test basin.
Accountabilities are not a list of tasks and activities carried out, but are concerned with the reasons why these tasks are undertaken, i.e. WHAT is required of it rather than HOW a job is to be done.
Typically, there will be between 4 and 8 Principal Accountability statements for each job. If there are more than eight it is likely that tasks are being listed. Less than four suggests accountabilities are being grouped together, or the design of the role may need revisiting.
Knowledge, experience and skills required:
The role will require a broad base of experience in the engineering, marine, and associated industries including the following:
· Recognized technical qualification such as diploma-relevant subject.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical system maintenance, operations and troubleshooting.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in pneumatic/hydraulic/marine disciplines
· Medically fit to be deployed and work onboard a ship which will involve working in small spaces and lifting and moving equipment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate the willingness to participate in the Company’s Quality Management system and undertake auditor training and functions across the Company.
