Responsibilities

Finance (including and not limited to):

Requirements

• A University degree.

Job Description

1) Parents and Community Engagement

• Work with the respective teams to conduct open houses, student events and parents’ orientation to generate greater awareness among the public, VWOs and schools in the vicinity.

• Attend community engagement events to foster working relationship and explore opportunities to collaborate with other VWOs and schools.
• Serve as a conduit of information for parents to give constructive feedback on our existing and future services and policies

b) Schools

• Work with schools/agencies on an ad-hoc basis on projects to benefit DAS students.

2) Administration

Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the learning centre:

• Be responsible for the safety of staff and students, and the general security of the learning centre.
• Handle all communications with parents.
• Manage the learning centre inventories.
• Ensure that DAS policies are strictly implemented and adhered to.
• Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are strictly adhered to so as to achieve a high level of consistency with other learning centres.

3) Finance

Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the learning centre:

• Oversee the proper handling of all collections and payments at the learning centre.
• Supervise and work with the Student Service Associates in ensuring the following:

- Bursary applications and documentations are submitted promptly to the Bursary Administration Branch for review.

- All outstanding payments are followed up and reminder letters sent according to pre-specified procedures to the parents.

- Prompt billing of programme fees are carried out at the specified date given by the Finance Department.

- Proper maintenance of student records for monthly and year-end audit purposes.

4) Student Placement and Timetabling

The Learning Centre Manager, working closely with a designated Senior Educational Therapist, is responsible for the scheduling and proper placement of all students at their learning centre.

5) Staff

• Recommend training and development for administrative staff.
• Handle staff administration, ie. leave application, medical leave etc.
• Recommend talented staff for positions of greater responsibility.

6) Reporting to Senior Management

Provide feedback and reports on the performance and operations of the learning centre.

7) Others

Any other duties assigned from time to time by the Chief Financial Officer-cum-Director of Learning Centre Management and the Deputy Director of Learning Centre Management.

• Having supervisory experience and experience as an administrator in an educational setting will be an advantage

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) is a University Research Institute at NTU with a mission to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.

EOS invites applications for a Research Fellow in palynology (pollen) and sedimentology research relating to tropical mangrove environments in Singapore. The position will involve the use of sedimentary cores to reconstruct the geomorphic evolution of mangrove systems and investigate mangrove survival thresholds and ecological tipping points relating to past sea-level change. The position is a key component of the Marine Climate Chance Science (MCCS) Programme aimed at assessing the long-term viability of mangroves as nature-based climate solutions in Singapore. The candidate will work under the supervision of Assistant Professor Kyle Morgan and Research Assistant Professor Stephen Chua, as well as a team of leading international scientists to understand the response of Singapore’s coastal and marine ecosystems to anthropogenic and climate change impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pollen grain counts with accurate identification of species (including statistical methods related to pollen analysis)
• Manage, guide and train student interns/PhD students/Research staff in pollen preparation and analysis
• Maintenance of documentation, including inhouse data repository, and GitHub repository, if applicable
• Publish the scientific outcomes of this research in high quality, peer-reviewed, international scientific journals

Job Duties

• Provides administrative support for the review boards’ meetings.
• Performs administrative and simple preliminary reviews of study amendments, continuing reviews, non-compliances, UPIRTSO, and other notifications in a timely manner to ensure completeness of submission and correctness of information.
• Performs data extraction, collation of information, prepare reports and presentation slides using data, when required.
• Serves as a resource for investigators regarding the adaptation and implementation of DSRB policies, procedures and forms.
• Assists in drafting WIs to ensure clarity and consistency in work processes, as required.
• Assists in organizing research ethics seminars and training sessions.
• Be involved in cross coverage plans for other Assistant IRB Analysts.

Job Requirements

• “A” Level /Diploma of any discipline or equivalent.
• Preferably with at least 1 year of experience in a Healthcare/Clinical Research Industry or in supporting the IRB/DSRB operations in key administrative functions preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Able to work independently and meticulously as well as a team player.
• Possess strong organisation and planning skills and demonstrate strong written and verbal capabilities.
• Able to handle extremely detailed and highly confidential information with tact and discretion.
