NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited (“Nanofilm”, “NTI”), Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and supported by Singapore under RIE2025. The Laboratory’s objective is to propel Innovation and Technologies commercialisation through NTU’s innovation and NTI’s deep technology. The Nanyang Technological University NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join us as Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The SRF will join in a cutting-edge interdisciplinary research project fund through the Industry-Alignment Funding scheme, aiming to developed novel coatings for biomedical implants.

The SRF will be responsible to design, develop, characterize and optimize the formulation of bioactive coatings for biomedical implants, as well as to manage the coordination of research between different stakeholders in order to achieve project KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough literature review and generate periodic updates.
• Design, synthesize, characterize and optimize functional coating for biomedical implants, with particular emphasis on osteogenesis ability.
• Carry out assays and analysis to optimize and control functional performance (e.g. coating thickness, uniformity, assess active agents delivery effectiveness, degradation profile, mechanical strength etc).
• Carry out biochemical and biological assays to assess bioavailability and cytotoxicity of the developed products.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all aspects of the research work.
• Develop and optimize protocols.
• Supervise junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate student projects.
• Manage logistical issues and laboratory inventory.
• Coordinate collaborative work within multidisciplinary team and external collaborators.
• Generate periodic progress report as required by funding agency.
• Disseminate research results in reputable peer-reviewed journals and/or international conference.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Materials Science/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related fields.
• Experience in biomaterial, nanomaterials synthesis, functionalization, and characterization (e.g. TEM, XRD, DLS, FTIR, TGA, ICP, etc).
• Experience working with biopolymers, thin film coatings. Experience with osteogenesis relevant assays and techniques preferred.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture, tissue engineering, implants. Experience with animal work will be a bonus.
• A strong track record of research ability and demonstrated contribution to research (e.g., research publications, grant applications, patents).
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a diverse, international, and inter-disciplinary research environment.
• Ability to take initiative to improve processes and troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to work well with multiple competing priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines.

Job Description

• Supervision of civil and structural works in accordance to the project specifications, construction drawings and Building Control Act and Regulations
• Responsible for site supervision with the RTO as a team and resolve all site issues
• Manage the site supervisors with respect to civil and structural engineering works.
• Attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings
• Ensure site safety and prepare safe work procedure with Safety personnel
• Ensure the smooth completion of the project

You will be responsible for the set-up, operations, maintenance and inspection of CNC machines, tools, materials and products, including the following job responsibilities:

-Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.

-Perform routine maintenance of all precision computer equipment by running tests, replacing worn or broken parts and keeping inventory of CNC machines parts and supplies.

-Verify CNC machine settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces to ensure adherence to quality standards.

-Modify CNC machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured metal parts.

-Set up components such as tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, etc.

-Program CNC machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.

-Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

-Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials and products.

-Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

-Any other ad hoc duties assigned by supervisor or Management.

Requirements:

-Minimum 2 years of proven work experience in operating CNC machines.

-Knowledge of CNC machine operations, tooling and using precision measurement tools.

-Computer savvy with familiarity in programming and interpreting CNC software.

-Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings.

-Possess strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.

-Hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist.

Roles and Responsibilities
