This role involves coordinating the instrumentation of a 65-meter tower in a pristine peat swamp forest will micrometeorological sensors to monitor water vapor, carbon dioxide and methane exchange at the ecosystem scale. We hypothesize that, given its undisturbed state and the thick peat layer, this peatland functions as a net carbon sink. Validating this hypothesis would provide novel evidence of active carbon removal from pristine peatlands in Southeast Asia.

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in field-based research within a pristine tropical peat swamp forest. The role involves periods spent outdoors, where living and working conditions are basic. 1. Job description

• Implementation of effective safety management system, preventive measures as well as risk assessment to minimize accidents at the assigned workplace/site
• Implementation of workplace safety, health and environment programs and initiatives
