· Assist with post fixture activities as required (Cargo documentation (BL’s / LOI’s, Cargo quantity issues, Additional Insurance requirements (AWRP / KnR) (Under guidance from Marine Supt as required)

· Bunker ROB / Requirements of the vessel. Including notification to charterers (if required) and Intake quantity + segregation onboard. (Under guidance from Tech Supt and advise from Master as required)

· Agency appointment (as required) on owners’ behalf.

· To monitor the speed & consumption of all vessels to comply with respective Charter party requirements.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Responsible for building and maintaining the MAPS Department's data and technology platform to support Eastspring’s multi-asset capabilities.

The role will involve managing sophisticated data feeds, systems, algorithms, and databases. Your data and technology skills will help the MAPS Department provide robust financial solutions for our clients.

The role will collaborate with other members of MAPS; with Quant developers in other Investment teams; and with members of Eastspring's IT and Data and Operations teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design, build and maintain data and software infrastructure to enable robust and efficient investment processes.
• Build high quality processes to load, access, and analyse underlying data sets.
• Design and build dashboards to allow users to visualise and interact with underlying data sets.
• Work closely with analysts and fund managers to build high quality data-driven investment solutions.
• Work closely with other Quantitative Developers to ensure tools and data sets used are robust, version controlled, and consistent with best practice

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• We are looking for someone with the following experience…
• Exceptional academic track record in a quantitative discipline.
• Programming experience in one of R, Python, Matlab, SAS, VBA or similar.
• Knowledge of database management systems SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Data visualisation experience in one of R, Python, Power BI, or Excel.
• Experience using mathematical and statistical models to solve real-life problems.
• Financial certifications such as CFA or FRM will be viewed favourably.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Submit reconciliation statement to customers on their slot usage against their slot commitment, it has to be drawn up accurately & submit within stipulated timeframe;
• Follow up with customer for the statement confirmation & ensure accurate & timely issuance of invoices; and
• Handle queries raised by customers & resolve the disputes independently
• To fully understand the structure of each deal & items stating in the checklist prior preparing the reconciliation template;
• Close follow up with Line Manager to ensure checklist is drawn up for each agreement prior the deal commences, making sure the checklist is updated whenever there’s changes to the deal;
• Setup contract details in system together with billing instructions to facilitate correct invoicing to customers;
• Update customers on the monthly slot charges with bunker update & ensure correct fixed slot invoices issued promptly to customers;
• Extraction of customers loading information – to scrutinize the report & probe agents for clarification on any data discrepancies, also follow up to ensure system gets updated with correct records;

Requirements:

• Diploma in Shipping/ Logistics or similar specialization from a recognized institution.
• Preferably 2 to 3 years’ working experience in shipping industry. Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office in particular MS Excel;
• Detailed and meticulous and strong problem solving skills;
• Good analytical and numerical abilities;
• Pro-active with positive attitude and willing to learn;
• Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills and Team player; and
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
