Executive/Senior Executive, Finance (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for a maternity cover for the period from June to September 2024 to join our Group Finance team. This role as Executive/Senior Executive, Finance reports to the Manager, Group Finance.

Job Scope:

- Handle and maintain full set of accounts for five investment entities based in Singapore (AP/AR/GL/Reporting)

- Coordinate with outsourced accounting teams to ensure accurate and compliant management accounts and offshore account submissions

- Assist in updating monthly group cash flow movements

- Prepare quarterly group investment schedules

- Handle monthly payment and other India subsidiary matters

- Assist the Group Finance Manager in the preparation of quarterly subgroup consolidation accounts

- Collaborate with external auditors, tax agents, and bankers as required

- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time

Requirements:

- Candidates who are currently pursuing the CA/ACCA qualification with a minimum 5 years of accounting experience is preferred

- Open to fresh graduates with an Accounting/Finance degree

- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

- Successful candidate will be pro-active, hands-on, possess good interpersonal communication skills and a team player

Job Responsibilities:

· Handling expense management in tracking and analyzing all expenses to ensure on a cost-efficiency spending model

· Collaborating with various departments on budgeting & forecasting exercises

· Responsible to report to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Risk Management Dept. and Finance Dept. related tasks, including but not limited to:

⁃ Reporting of daily trading positions (net earning and mark-to-market, credit exposure, breakdown of each portfolio book, risk volume calculation [VaR and liquidation cost], and other trading risk related items);

⁃ Credit line analysis, counterparty assessment, and credit risk position monitoring;

⁃ Risk management of trading activities such as market risk assessment, credit risk control, fair valuation of trading positions, and other risks involved in the business.

⁃ Cash flow management and analysis, and bank compliance related management.

⁃ System related matters (contribute to the management of ETRM [Energy Trading Risk Management] system and other digitalization projects of the company process);

⁃ HR related matters of the department and support growth of the department members.

• Support CFO and have close communication with all Chief Officers and solve management level issues from Risk Management and Finance point of view;

· Support business department activity from accounting and tax point of view and maintain good relationship with them to get information;

· Build and maintain good relationship with Head Quarter in Japan, Regional Head Office in Singapore, and other external counterparties such as banks, and so forth.

· Good degree from a recognized University;

· Possess at least 5 years of relevant working experience in finance and/or risk management (especially expecting trading company which involves derivative transactions);

· High levelawareness of compliance and internal control;

· Basic knowledge on risk analysis & management, hedging, economic evaluation, financial, credit and accounting knowledge of trading business (and international/energy trading business related experience preferable);

· Excellent English and Japanese language skills, as well as Chinese (Mandarin) which is preferable, with the ability to logically comprehend a written document, and ability to write formal business correspondences for communication with clients (Japanese / International / local) and other Mitsui Group offices (i.e. Tokyo and other offices in the network);

· Good inter-personal skills for internal and external communication;

· Can-do attitude, with the willingness to learn and willingness to work hard to create value, due to international nature of the business;

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility of this role is to support in the supervision of credit risk management function in RMDAP. This role also leads cross-functional initiatives in RMDAP including model governance, data governance, group risk management and new product risk management.
• Develop risk management framework including timely portfolio analysis, risk appetite framework and stress testing for credit risk management.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives in Risk Management, including regional model governance with implementing model life cycle management for each model, regional risk data governance for accurate regulatory reporting for SMBC's group subsidiaries' risk management and new product risk management.
• Review and monitor credit risk management status including Risk Appetite Measures, Risk Control Measures and EWIs to take proper management actions.
• Collaborate with HO, other regional risk management departments, risk management functions in the branches and front departments in APAC to improve the regional risk management framework.
• Build a strong compliance and risk management culture in Risk Management

Requirements

• Degree/Masters in Banking and Finance or equivalent
• Strong working experience and knowledge in in credit / market / liquidity / operational / integrated risk management in banking
• Knowledge of global financial regulations
• Strong leadership, coaching and team management skills
• Proficiency of Japanese is required as this role requires frequent interaction with Head Office
• Strong communication skills, able to present and articulate vision
