THE ROLE
The General Manager (“GM”) shall be responsible for the management of the Serangoon Gardens Country Club (the “Club”). The role will report to the President and work closely with the General Committee (“GC”, aka “Board of Directors”). He/she shall lead a management team to manage the Club’s operations which include but not limited to: food & beverage outlets, members relations, finance, human resources, sports & recreational facilities, safety & security and all other matters pertaining to the effective functioning of the Club. The person shall ensure that the Club is managed in accordance with the Club’s constitution and bye-laws and all applicable laws and regulations of Singapore.
The GM is expected to understand Country Club business and the nature of members-owned Country Club.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set key performance targets jointly with the GC and achieve those annual targets.
- Lead the management team and be responsible and accountable for their and their sub-ordinates’ performances.
- Maintain and improve members’ experience and safety in the Club, the Club’s reputation and well-being, and effective and prudent management of the Club’s finances, facilities and assets.
- Support the GC in their discharge of fiduciary duties.
- Strategise and execute the Club’s membership rejuvenation and expansion plan.
- Strategise and execute digital transformation plan which includes automation, digitalization, systems and processes upgrades to improve the Club’s productivity, service level, business ROI, and regulation compliance
PREREQIUSITES: SKILLS,EXPERIENCES & ATTRIBUTES
- A good degree in any discipline, good problem solver, critical thinker, good grasp of executive finance, and good business acumen;
- 5 years or more in leading and managing hospitality businesses;
- Excellent leadership and great management skills;
- Strong experience in strategizing and implementing social media marketing and communications;
- Good track record in delivering operating profit and narrowing operating deficits;
- Great communication skills with stakeholders (colleagues, board of directors, public, regulators, union, vendors etc);
- Savvy in adopting technology to improve productivity (preferably with comprehensive experience in digital transformation experience);
- Other attributes:
- - proven large project management skills
- - good numeric and data analysis skills
- - familiar and experience in tender and procurement processes
- - experience in budget preparation, management, and delivering results
- - experience in facility upgrade and vendor management
- - passionate in provisioning service and pride in delivering quality services
- - energetic and goal oriented
- - great interpersonal skills
