The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates who are highly motivated and willing to join the Division of Dermatology for a challenging and fulfilling appointment as a Dermatologist Consultant/Associate Consultant.

The Division of Dermatology manages in-patients and out-patients with a wide spectrum of dermatological diseases. As a tertiary centre, the Division of Dermatology provides specialised dermatological services and nurtures various dermatological sub-specialties. The division has a strong culture of research and education.

Job Requirements:

· Possess both basic Medical and Post-graduate Degrees which are registerable with the Singapore Medical Council;

· Active in clinical practice;

· Completed 1 year of housemanship with 3 year of post-housemanship clinical experience;

· Must possess the relevant experience in dermatology at a Specialist level upon the completion of specialist training;

· Able to work independently with demonstrated competence in managing patients in the department; and

· Confident with initiative and a good team player

Broad Function

To provide high level of respiratory care services to all patients in the hospital involving critical care, and to coordinate and participate in a variety of duties involved in the operation and maintenance of pulmonary and polysomnography equipment to provide detained analysis of pulmonary physiology tests and polysomnography tests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess, monitor and adjust parameters and evaluate patients on invasive, non-invasive mechanical ventilation and advanced mode of ventilation.
2. Perform respiratory care procedures e.g. tracheobronchial suction and assist in procedures e.g. bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy.
3. Assess and evaluate patients referred for respiratory therapy services.
4. Assist with the intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients and respiratory care equipment maintenance in ward.
5. Provides caregivers’ training for patients requiring long-term respiratory care and CPAP counselling services, information on polysomnography and pulmonary physiology tests.
6. Perform routine pulmonary physiology tests, exercise testing, polysomnography test, ambulatory sleep test, pulse oximetry study, manual scoring of polysomnography test, and assessment on validity of pulmonary physiology tests.
7. Generate and dispatch accurate reports.
8. Maintain record of reports and patients records in departmental database.
9. Schedule test appointments and follow up appointments as needed.
10. Perform of routine calibration and maintenance of equipment to ensure accurate and reliable assessment and diagnosis; troubleshooting errors when variances arise.
11. Check, maintain and manage inventory stock.
12. Assist and participate in clinical research activities in the department.
13. Participate in Quality Improvement projects as assigned.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
15. Be actively involved in hospital’s projects and functions and participate in community outreach programs.
16. Uphold and maintain a culture of patient-centered care and safety.

Requirements

1. Degree in Respiratory Therapy with a minimum of 2 years working experiences in the Intensive Care Unit of a recognized hospital.
2. Respiratory Therapist credentials in the country of training and licensure.
3. BCLS certificate (Required)
4. ACLS certificate (Preferred)
5. Preferred, if not, at least one of the following should be attained within two years of employment:
6. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or
7. Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)
8. Required to work in rotating shifts (day/night) as needed.
9. Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint needed.
10. Should be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
