Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30-5.30pm, Saturday 8.30-12.30pm

• Assist the Medical Director in the consultation room and procedures both in & outside the Centre.
• Assist in laser refractive procedures and other minor procedures.
• Maintain stocks & inventory of surgical consumables and upkeep of operating theatre and instrument sterility.

Requirements:

• Fully registered with Singapore Nursing Board
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in Ophthalmic/Surgical setting

The Opportunity
As the Director Medical Affairs APAC, J&J Vision, your role will be to direct the operational function of medical affairs in the region to achieve key regional and organizational objectives. You will represent the regional voice of medical affairs and direct medical strategy aligned to commercial objectives. A key part of your role will be to support regional product launches and in-market products through KOL engagement, advisory boards, and execution of evidence generation and data dissemination strategies including post-market studies, scientific podium and publications, independent medical educational events. You will also work with Medical Safety and other cross-functional partners to support safe and effective product use and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities

• Directs the regional operational function of medical affairs aligned to regional business and evidence generation/dissemination strategies
• Provides strategic feedback into post-market research study protocols for specific projects promoting company message and value
• Engages KOLs regionally through Ad Boards, conferences, other venues aligned with regional KOL management and development strategies
• Serves as member of the APAC Leadership Team, driving clinical/medical perspective into strategic dialogue
• Supports regional product launches and training as well as implementation of the Post-Market Safety Surveillance Program in collaboration with the Medical Safety organization
• Builds Medical Affairs capability in region and implements plans for continuous improvement to create an environment that encourages and recognizes creativity, innovation, teamwork, risk taking and empowerment
• Ensures collaborative working relationship between Medical Affairs and internal collaborators to deliver timely and expert support for product launches and in-market products

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent in English language
• Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline required. Advanced degree, including O.D., M.D., or equivalent preferred
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in ophthalmology or relevant related field required. At least 3-5 years of industry experience in R&D, Clinical/Medical Affairs and/or Professional Education required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced innovative environment
• 2+ years direct people leadership and people development experience
• Exposure with APAC markets preferred
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships cross-functionally with key internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Very strong and demonstrable communication and influencing skills that can impact at a Regional and Global level
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with KOL’s/experts in the field
• Excellent knowledge of Ophthalmology/Optometry
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of post-market clinical studies to support in-market products
• Good knowledge of study execution, pharmacovigilance
• Sound knowledge of study publication processes and publications
• Strong understanding and application of regulatory guidance and compliance
• Highly customer and marketplace focused with a Big Picture orientation

Job Description

• Provides leadership, planning and overall management of the QHSSE department
• Promotion of a genuine safety culture across all business units
• Acts as DPA and CSO
• Ensures that policies and procedures are created in line with best international practices such as OVMSA, Marine Safety Forum, Intertanko etc.
• Ensure those QHSSE standards are applied to our vessels, our employees (ashore and seagoing) as well as subcontractors
• Ensures an effective system is in place for smooth operation and the safety of all onboard the vessels and ashore
• Responsible for the production of all reports related to non-conformances, accidents, incidents and near misses
• In charge of the Group’s internal and external QHSSE audits
• Ensures Corrective and Preventive Action Plans are generated
• Responsible for ensuring that safety systems on-board, such as safety committees, inspections/audits are in place

Requirements

• Ex-Chief Officer/Mate, Second Officer during sailing time
• Minimum 15 years of related working experience in the management of safety within the maritime industry
• Knowledge of the various regulatory processes and systems in QHSSE management such as the ISO standards and ISM code
• Must have Ship Management in Offshore Supply Vessels experience with strong focus in Quality, Health, Safety, Sustainability & Environmental experience.
• Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English
• Lead auditor, Incident Investigation, DPA and CSO certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
