Job Summary:
The HR Manager Overseas Portfolio is responsible for managing and supporting local proximity HR operations across international locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Planning:
- Develop and implement HR strategies tailored to the needs of overseas operations.
- Collaborate with leadership to align global HR practices with corporate objectives.
- Identify workforce trends and address skill gaps in international locations.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to meet current and future workforce needs.
- Align hiring practices with organizational goals, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and market trends.
- Monitor workforce planning in collaboration with department heads to address talent needs proactively.
- Strengthen the organizations employer brand to attract high-quality talent.
3. Compliance & Legal Frameworks:
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and employment policies in each operating region.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international HR regulations and mitigate risks.
- Develop and monitor contracts, visas, and work permits for expatriates and international employees.
4. Employee Engagement & Diversity:
- Foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and collaboration across culturally diverse teams.
- Ensure employee engagement programs, conflict resolution and mediation services are tailored to local preferences.
5. Performance Management & Training:
- Roll out performance management systems suitable for international locations.
- Identify and address training needs to enhance employee skillsets.
6. Compensation & Benefits Administration:
- Manage competitive compensation and benefits packages tailored to local markets.
- Collaborate with external consultants to benchmark salaries and incentives.
- Ensure equity in pay structures in the local regions.
7. Expatriate & Mobility Management:
- Manage international assignments, including relocation, housing, and cultural assimilation.
- Provide ongoing support for expatriates and their families.
8. HR Data & Reporting:
- Maintain and analyze HR metrics to assess workforce trends in international locations.
- Prepare periodic reports for leadership, highlighting key HR insights and risks.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field (Masters preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience, with at least 2-3 years managing international or cross-border portfolios.
- Familiarity with global HR systems and practices.
Skills & Competencies:
- Must be able to travel extensively and stay in the designated local operation for at least 2 months per trip.
- Strong understanding of international labour laws and compliance.
- Exceptional cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different time zones.
- Proficiency in HRIS and talent management software.
- Strategic mindset with problem-solving abilities.
