DesCartes Program (work package 9) is looking for research assistant in UI/UX design and library development. The Memory Aging & Cognition Centre (MACC) is a Research Center within the National University Health System funded by the Singapore National Medical Research Council that focuses on the study of dementia and cognitive impairment in the elderly. The MACC currently has 4 research themes on (i) neurochemistry, molecular pathology and biomarker discovery, (ii) neuroimaging, (iii) clinical assessment and (iv) epidemiology.

Job Overview:
The HR & Admin Executive will support Metta Welfare Association’s HR and administrative functions by coordinating training programs, managing employee engagement activities, and handling essential administrative tasks. This role includes overseeing training applications, submitting grant claims, compiling monthly HR reports, and ensuring smooth execution of staff events.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Coordination

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the role of Research Assistant/Research Associate with the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The HRPC is a first-of-its-kind research centre, established at the NUS, to spearhead and conduct research and development to better enable the future challenges arising from rising ambient heat. Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

The Research Assistant/Associate who will play a key role in assisting in the development, execution and analysis of research aimed at addressing the challenges of training and operating in rising ambient temperatures. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group comprising exercise and thermal physiologists, data scientists, biomedical engineers and researchers. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to not only develop your expertise in research planning and execution, but also to be a part of the team looking to generate fundamental and forward-looking solutions to working in the heat. There are also opportunities to pursue a part-time PhD with HRPC.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main areas of responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to the following:

• Working with research PIs and teams to develop new research ideas
• Performing literature searches, assimilating, and summarizing key information, as well as identifying knowledge gaps
• Designing and conducting relevant studies and surveys (qualitative and quantitative, including lab and outfield studies)
• Establishing and managing large databases

Qualifications
