Join us as a Assistant Housekeeping Manager in Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. We’re looking for someone who can:

Supervise the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure cleanliness quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives.

Financial returns:

• Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on increasing productivity.
• Maintain proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies and labour (example: bed & bath linen reuse and laundry operation).

People:

• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
• Educate and train all employees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department heads.
• May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods.
• To ensure staff in housekeeping annual leave and public holiday leave are cleared as per schedule.
• Conducts trainings regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines (weekly, monthly, and when necessary).

Guest experience:

• Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Advise team of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed.
• Routinely perform all housekeeping duties necessary including making beds, and vacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
• Carry out special needs and requests of all guests.
• Manages the guest Lost & Found Logs.

Responsible business:

• Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents).
• May maintain procedures for security of lost and found items.
• Close liaison with Engineering department on Perpetual Preventive Management (PPM program) daily.
• To carry out monthly checklist for guest room condition and status in terms of furnishing and fittings.
• To ensure the periodical cleaning schedule for both guest rooms and public area are duly carried out.
• Perform other duties as assigned and may also serve as manager on duty.
• Compiles and reports information on housekeeping activities and expenses.
• Ensure hotel is in compliance with all government laws.

Accountability:

This is the top supervisory job in the housekeeping department. Supervises small number of housekeeping and laundry employees in a small limited-service or extended stay single site hotel with a limited range of facilities.

Qualifications and requirements:

High School Diploma / secondary education / equivalent plus one year of assistant executive housekeeper experience in similar capacity in the hospitality industry. Must be able to speak local language(s).

You will be responsible for regional Marketing Management: -

• Brand Management and customer event management for Southeast Asia
• Content creation and content marketing including publishing of marketing materials covering traditional, electronic, and digital.
• Planning and executing all web, marketing database, social media, display of advertising campaigns
• Planning and executing new product launches, product seminar, conference.

• Manage the claim process by identifying potential claims from customers, 3rd party service providers, or internal departments, and coordinating with the insurance team appropriately to open claim files.
• Discuss claim notifications from customers and/or 3rd party service providers, such as carriers, haulers, rail operators, terminals, and local authorities, with internal departments.
• Lead and guide in claim incident management, collaborating with other Business Units as necessary.
• Verify liability based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), agreements, terms, and conditions, where applicable.
• Liaise with internal departments, business units, and 3rd parties to mitigate and minimize further losses and damages in ongoing claim cases.
• Propose cost recovery whenever applicable and possible.
• Attend to claim-related documents, such as Letters of Indemnity (LOI), liability or no further liabilities letters, invoices, etc.
• Follow up with other offices, business units, departments, and 3rd parties regarding ongoing/open claim cases.
• Provide updates to the insurance team, claim department, and management on open claim cases, sharing monthly/weekly overviews.
• Assist the Operation Manager on operational matters as assigned, with a focus on meeting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and improving operational efficiency.

Requirement

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years relevant supervisory experience in operations and claim
• Strong team player with good initiative and ability to work independently
