Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

1. Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, offer letters, and other HR documentation.

4. Maintain and update employee records, including leave management and benefits administration.

7. Prepare monthly payroll files for the Singapore office before the payroll cutoff date.
8. Manage the full work pass lifecycle, from job posting to renewal, where necessary.
9. Collaborate daily with the HR and Finance Teams in the China offices (Xiamen and Shanghai) to ensure smooth communication.

Office Administration & Operations:

1. Support cross-departmental projects to ensure operational alignment with business objectives.
2. Process expenses and coordinate vendor payments in the Company’s financial system in a timely manner.
3. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Monitor adherence to Company policies and local regulations.
5. Ensure office supplies are adequately stocked.

Executive Support:

1. Provide high-level administrative support to senior management, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, and event coordination.
2. Document minutes for meetings upon request and track action items.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of senior leadership.
4. Lead or assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.

Other Duties:

1. Act as a backup for other roles when needed to maintain operational continuity.

Qualifications and Skills

What’s the role?

As a Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, you are responsible to support the day-to-day operations of the Care and Call Centre (CareHub) to meet CareHub’s service standards, key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver a positive customer experience for residents and community partners who reach in to CareHub for support to age well in the community.

Fabrica AI is reinventing how robots are developed. Currently novel robots take 5-20 years. We are building a design automation platform to bring it down to a month, and have already demonstrated significant progress by developing tile grouting robots in record time. Robotics simulation and reinforcement learning has been advancing a lot making it 1000x cheaper to train robots compared to 5 years ago, and as Jensen Huang said at Nvidia GTC 2024, "the ChatGPT moment for robotics may be just around the corner." A couple other companies are building on the same paradigm shift but we are the only ones using it to automate hardware design, not just software.

Building robots and a design automation platform together brings great synergy - the platform helps us develop robots faster than anyone else and the robots allow us to gather data and do experiments at scale. Data gathering can be done through partnerships with other robotics companies, but doing experiments is crucial for grounding the platform in reality and ensuring its usefulness. The grouting robots are already deploying daily at construction sites and bringing value to clients. We are currently negotiating sales worth around 500k USD. With manufacturing cost multiple times lower than companies using a traditional robotic arm, our robots have an ROI in weeks. Our robot is also small and simple to use, operating from a single button without the need to upload floorplans or do any complex setup. Soon we would be expanding into other simple and valuable robots for the construction industry.

We’ve raised over 2.5m USD from Hoxton Ventures, Credo Ventures, our Professor from Cambridge University, Woh Hup, and the owner of BHCC (listed construction company). We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. You will also assist with processing the microbial proteins for optimal digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profiles. The candidate will work closely with postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research activities in accordance with the Centre objectives involving but not limited to:
i. Conversion of industrial food side-streams into media suitable for microalgae cultivation.
