The research scope for this position is in perception and navigation development for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle operating in offshore environment. We will be developing advanced techniques for structural tracking and methods for perception generalisation across multiple types of offshore infrastructure. Perception and navigation strategies around complex jackets will be devised with a high level of scale as the focus for the techniques utilised. The techniques will start first with a mapping step (not necessarily used for localisation) followed by perception and navigation step. The Department of Architecture in the College of Design and Engineering is ranked among the top 10 in the world, and Asia’s best in Architecture/Built Environment, by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (2023). It offers the professionally accredited Master of Architecture programme as well as a range of graduate and undergraduate programmes in related fields such as urban planning/design, landscape architecture and conservation. Qualifications

Successful candidates should be actively engaged in landscape architectural research and design, including but not limited to geospatial analysis, landscape representation, urbanism, ecology, infrastructure, and landscape engineering. Additional preferred qualifications include experience in professional practice or membership with professional bodies.
