The successful candidate will work with Prof YAO Shao Qin on chemical biology/drug discovery-related research under a project on "Targeted covalent Inhibitors against key epigenetic proteins (NMRC)".

Human kinases and epigenetic proteins are important therapeutic targets. Recent development of selective and potent inhibitors of proteins has yielded remarkable results in disease treatment, with numerous drugs already on the market, and many more undergoing clinical trials. Notwithstanding, the discovery of new covalent kinase and epigenetic drugs remains highly challenging, including issues related to selectivity, efficacy and acquired drug resistance. Taking cue from the kinase drug discovery field, the hypothesis of these projects is that a universal strategy for targeted covalent inhibitors (TCIs) capable of potent target inhibition and minimal acquired drug resistance is possible, if highly effective small molecules could be developed to covalently target non-cysteine (C) nucleophilic residues within/near the active-site of kinase/epigenetic proteins. Our recent discovery of covalent kinase inhibitors against BCR-ABL (a key kinase for CML) in which CBA/SA and EBA warheads formed stable, (reversible and irreversible) covalent linkage with catalytic lysine (K) in Abl kinase under cellular environments indicates other covalent chemistries are feasible. Therefore, the goal of the current proposals is to confirm covalent chemistries targeting other nucleophilic residues (E/D/R/M/etc) are possible, and amenable to the development of cell-active, selective TCIs for various therapeutic proteins.

The scope of this proposal will be limited to the fundamental basic science, and NOT the actual clinical implementation, of the developed chemical/chemical biology tools. Therefore, only cell-based and basic animal models will be tested on newly developed, select small-molecule TCIs. Experience/skills required are organic synthesis/chemical biology/protein chemistry/proteomics/molecular biology/cell biology (only some of above skills are required)

Responsibilities

Organisational Design

• Collaborates with business leaders to interpret business needs and people priorities. Contributes to the design and/or integration of the holistic organisational plan (i.e., talent, structure, culture, process) for an assigned organisation. Partners with business to monitor, execute, and continue to evolve and inform the design.

Organisational Diagnostics

• Partners and consults with peer HR disciplines (e.g., Talent Management, Organisation Development, HR Business Insights) on leveraging the systems model, diagnosing talent pyramid and talent management processes/programs, interpreting results, and building recommendations based on data analyses. Assesses, interprets, and presents findings on organisational effectiveness, and designs and implements assessments or solutions for an organisation.
• Interprets results of analyses provided by HR Business Insights on talent management processes (e.g., attrition, movement, polls, compensation patterns), talent needs, and risks. Identifies trends/themes, communicates findings with the business as well as the broader HR community, and provides recommendations to senior leadership about organisational strategies, goals, and actions. Uses knowledge of the business to frame data in a meaningful way when making recommendations. Translates data into action and leads the implementation of data-supported plans.

Change Design & Orchestration

• Identifies the needs for change and leads the implementation and adaption to new or changing structures (leadership or organisational), cultural change, or programs/processes (e.g., training, talent movement) for an organisation, client, or time zone. Contributes to developing change management and communication plans in collaboration with the Communications team and business leaders.
• Evaluates internal and external business drivers and environmental factors to foster change adoption among a diversity of employees and managers. Assesses risks and benefits to ensure project feasibility, and collaborates with business leaders or HR partners to develop effective change-management strategies and training materials.

People Plan

• Identifies gaps in current people plan, people programs, and tools to develop critical skills and maintain productivity. Leads the implementation of the holistic people plan (e.g., talent management, leadership effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, culture). Participates in creating the people plan for an assigned client, organisation, or time zone.

Strategic Talent Management

• Identifies talent strengths and needs through ongoing assessment of business needs. Partners with Talent Management to translate business priorities into talent management outcomes. Design approaches to help business leaders make decisions to build, buy, or borrow talent and assess impact of the decisions.
• Assists in building strategic talent plans aligned with organisational strategy, data (e.g., attrition rates, hiring trends) and budgets. Collaborates with Total Rewards to understand the market competitiveness of the client organisation's compensation and makes recommendations to improve engagement and retention through fiscal levers.
• Implements talent movement plans in partnership with Talent Management and Talent Development Management (TDM) by identifying potential successors using business insights and data. Drives operational processes and works with others (e.g., managers, Compensation and Benefits) to ready successors and place them in the new role.
• Participates in the development and implementation of talent development plans and programs, in partnership with Talent Management, by analysing and interpreting business and talent needs. Assembles and provides summary status updates and guidance for senior level leadership. Conducts one-on-one effectiveness coaching with senior leaders to improve leadership capability or the resolution of leadership gaps. Coaches managers and leaders to facilitate organisational change and model an inclusive environment.
• Identifies where change is needed and contributes to the development of interventions that improve leadership and team performance to achieve strategic imperatives for a business group. Facilitates the leadership capability planning for an organisation, client, or time zone. Executes on strategies and action plans to transform leaders and teams to embody leadership principles.

Strategy Clarity & Alignment

• Translates business strategies into people and organisational priorities. Leads the discussion with the business leadership teams in applying and aligning people and organisational priorities with organisation vision and execution, to achieve the business goals for an assigned client, organisation, or time zone.
• Identifies gaps in the execution of business strategies and guides business leadership on clarifying and executing business strategies for an assigned client, organisation, or time zone. Identifies needs for interventions to drive clarity and address gaps in strategy execution. Leads the implementation of interventions.

Qualifications

• Work experience with Human Resources processes or related (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)
  OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field AND work experience with Human Resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management).
  Additional or Preferred Qualifications Optional Business Leadership experience
  Experience with partnering with a wide network of clients and across Human Resources to deliver effective business solutions.

Job Description:

• Administers and processes payroll according to internal procedures.
• Ensures payments are calculated and paid accurately and timely; ensures proper calculation of taxes and deductions.
• Provides customer support to the sites including any off-cycle or replacement payments needed.
• Reviews the information prepared for general ledger entries and other accounting and financial reporting activities associated with payroll.

Job Responsibilities

Planning

• Plan work received from Production Planners / Sales Executives and Logistics Manager and to divide these work to various Warehouse Assistants / Logistics Coordinators according to their abilities and duties.
• Daily checks of manpower availability and scheduling of overtime if necessary to meet shipping target.
• Schedule for periodic check on inventory of raw material and packaging materials as part of the inventory management plan.
• Check for serviceability of resources such as material handling equipment as part of the logistics activities requirement.
• Communicate with other departments such as Production and Sales to resolve issues that may hinders shipment planning.

Leading

• Act as a mentor to the Warehouse Assistants and Logistics Coordinators and as a role model for them in terms of career development and company direction.
• Act as an advocate for the Warehouse Assistants and Logistics Coordinators by acting as a spoke person in communicating requests to Logistics Manager.
• To train Warehouse Assistants and Logistics Coordinators ensuring that they are properly trained for their specific roles.

Controlling

• Act as point of communication with QC, Sales or other related departments to derive root cause and corrective actions on all quality rejections, which may affect dispatch dates. To recommend preventive actions and seek advice or approval from Logistics Manager if necessary.
• Provide reports and activity updates to management when requested.

Enforcing

• Ensure Warehouse Assistants and Logistics Coordinators follow the shipping process in accordance to specific process steps and standard operation procedures (SOP) available in ARIS.
• Perform daily check of logistics area to ensure cleanliness of area and equipment are maintained. Communicate with the general cleaners to perform additional cleaning if necessary.
• Ensure the personal hygiene of logistics assistants/coordinators.
• Enforce on safe and healthy working behaviour, wearing of PPEs and to correct and report on all observed hazards and safety non-compliances.

Warehousing

• Oversees and manage storage/shipping logistics for warehouse facilities.
• Overseeing shipment loading and unloading, handling day-to-day operations for the warehouse and creating shipment schedules.
• Monitor packaging materials inventory levels using software programs and initiating orders or shipments when inventory levels become too low or high. Organize Stock replenishment, follow FIFO/FEFO method.
• Monitoring and verification of raw materials on storage locations ensuring physical inventory tallies with system and at the correct storage location.
• Submitting of weekly inventory report to superior and investigate discrepancies and report on any stock adjustment required, including reason.
• Communicating with clients, suppliers and vendors by email or phone to coordinate warehouse operational needs.
