We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager/Manager to join the Museum Planning and Audience Engagement Team.

In this full-time role, the candidate will be responsible for co-creating and implementing cutting edge programmes and festivals to engage a broad-based audience with visual art through, participatory and collaborative approaches.

This role has a strong public programming, collaboration and programme delivery focus, which involves working with internal and external stakeholders to design and present cutting edge and impactful art experiences and encounters for new-to-art audiences for the Gallery.

The candidate will be part of the dynamic Audience Engagement division, to develop strategies in programming to help increase public familiarity with the Gallery’s identity, mission, and services, with the goal of bringing the non-traditional museum going audiences into the Gallery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to the below:

• Assist festival and programme team leads to plan, calendarise and implement the Gallery’s audience engagement plans with a vision to create awareness, enhance accessibility and develop meaningful connections between individuals and communities who may be new to art and the Gallery, its exhibitions and collection.

• Assist programme and festival team leads to adapt textual and visual content for broad-based audience groups, as well as different audience groups and publicity platforms, e.g. website, print collateral, social media, etc.
• To work with other internal divisions such as the Learning, Curatorial, Partnership Development and Marketing teams to provide content to maximise opportunities for programme content development, partnership and promotion respectively.
• To work closely with the Gallery’s internal Museum Research team from the onset to develop and define evidence-based impact measures and an evaluation plan to assess the efficacy of various modes of engagement, and monitor/track the on-going evaluation of the programmes and services and implement improvements as necessary. • To assist programme and festival team leads in building a schedule of programme and festival engagements throughout the year, liaising with venue partners on the use of sites and other logistical matters.

• At least 4 years of relevant work experience in an arts-related portfolio, including designing audience-centred content and public programmes, including children and family friendly exhibitions and programmes.
• Keen interest in arts-based public engagement and producing accessible, inclusive art experiences for a wider spectrum of audiences, especially those new to visual arts, children and families.
