Job Description

A Research Fellow position is open immediately in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. Successful candidate is expected to work with a team of experimentalists and computational materials scientists to investigate noncollinear spin Hall effect in chiral antiferromagnets with DFT calculations and experiments.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. They should also have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and able to guide undergraduate students to conduct projects.

Successful candidate is expected to perform DFT calculations to understand the underlying physics mechanism of spin Hall materials. Experience in DFT-based calculations is mandatory. In additional, experiences in electronic structure of advanced materials and machine learning are preferred.

Requirements

• Has strong programming experience and knowledge in Java

Programming and other software programming framework.

• Core knowledge on Spring Framework, Hibernate/Entity, HTML, CSS3

and JavaScript.

• Has experience in working with DLLs, SDKs and APIs.

• Familiar with developer’s tool, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web-Servers,

Spring Framework, Angular.

• Experience in system interfacing (among different software systems/

devices) is preferred.

• Experience and /or knowledge in Web based application development

is a plus.

• Experienced in various testing techniques and able to make test

cases.
