The Opportunity

The position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, administration and maintenance of all cloud infrastructure and DevOps related solutions.

Responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for a critical role in enabling organizations to leverage the power of cloud computing to drive innovation, agility, and scalability in their IT infrastructure.

Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

• Setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch to track the performance, availability, and health of cloud resources.

• Analyzing performance metrics and optimizing resource utilization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Implementing auto-scaling and load balancing solutions to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.

Automation and DevOps Practices:

• Developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and management of AWS resources.

• Collaborating with development teams to promote DevOps culture and practices within the organization.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Documenting architecture diagrams, configuration procedures, and best practices for reference and knowledge sharing.

• Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate Application Teams on AWS services, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Capacity Planning and Cost Management:

• Estimating resource requirements and performing capacity planning to support current and future workloads.

• Monitoring AWS usage and optimizing costs by leveraging reserved instances, spot instances, and cost allocation tags.

Requirements:

• Preferably with relevant AWS certification, with actual working and implementation experience in EC2, RDS, EBS, EFS, Cloudwatch
• Experience in enterprise applications, including web servers and app servers (e.g. tomcat, Apache), other backend technologies and tools (e.g. SFTP, SSL certificates), and application development related tools (e.g. GitHub, JIRA, svn)
• Knowledge and competency in enterprise backend server skills, including experience in various variants of linux OS, different scripting languages, backend automation tools
• Good interpersonal skill with the ability to communicate and work effectively across the organisation and with senior management leaders through hands-on collaborative style and approach to working with others
• Ability to adapt quickly, deal with stress, and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is a must
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare quality documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audience
• Experience in security related skills (e.g. pen-testing, ISO27001) and intermediate to advanced DevOps skills (CI/CD pipelines tools) will be a huge plus
• Minimum 6 years of experience in DevOps/Systems Administration, with minimum 3 years of experience with AWS

• Actively support the design and implement process control systems (PCS) and Digital solutions, to control and optimize Active Pharmaceutical Ingradient (API) manufacturing operations
• Contribute to the completion of projects, manage own time on agreed targets, develop plans for own projects and leads small project teams.
• Monitor, generate and complete the periodic review, validation master plan for the automation engineering program.
• Demonstrate good planning, organizing, time management and team participation skills.
• Responsible for routine and preventive maintenance work, ensure all the equipment and facilities work safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Generate and develop standard operating procedures and system support.
• Analyze operational process problems and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage change control authoring and execution.
• Participate in Process Centric Teams (PCT) in supporting the development of production recipes and devising automation solutions that improve productivity, business operations and safety/quality standards.
• Participate in the site and network wide teams to provide alignment and direction across various automation initiatives.
• Knowledge and of Automation systems integration to Pfizer Digital Manufacturing M4.0 applications / systems used for manufacturing.
• Provide 24x7x365 support of our automation systems and perform automation activities for capital and non-capital projects.
• Modify moderately complex to highly complex control logic that requires a degree of scientific and/or manufacturing process expertise.
• Mentor and guide junior staff and serve as a technical trainer, whenever necessary.
• Clearly communicate progress and issues to peers.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Automation Engineering
• Experience with writing software test plans, user requirements, and system design documents
• Experience on Automation Compliance projects
• Familiar with process controls equipment
• Strong knowledge of Computerized Systems, Compliance regulations and standards
• Teamwork spirit, good communication skills and training abilities
• Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills {written and oral}

Nice-to-Have

• Master's degree
• Relevant pharmaceutical experience
