The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting applications for a Manager / Assistant Senior Manager in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide support to the GIS Unit and its GIS educational programmes. The GIS Unit spearheads the research, training and applications of GIS in the Department and aims to extend beyond the academic realm to foster an Asia-focused GIS ecosystem with global reach. The Department is the leading centre in Singapore for GIS research and teaching, hosting comprehensive geospatial and other laboratory facilities. It currently runs three GIS educational programmes based upon a diverse range of courses; the MSc in Applied GIS and Graduate Certificate in Applied GIS at graduate level and the GIS Minor at undergraduate level. • Discusses with the Executive Chef and recommends menu price adjustments when necessary. Determines prices of unlisted food items in conjunction with Executive Chef and Director of F&B.
• Studies the menu engineering and sales statistics in depth, to amend the food offerings as per guest’s preferences
• Insists on personal cleanliness and proper discipline of all employees under supervision.
• Checks maintenance of all equipment located in the areas under supervision. Makes every attempt to prevent damages or losses of equipment. (Instruct staff on how to use the equipment correctly).

• Has a strategic plan to analyze and subsequently reduce food waste

Requirements:

• A graduate from a well-known culinary institution is highly desirable
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in kitchens covering all aspects of cooking. Exposure to exotic cuisines will be a strong asset
• Must have culinary experience in Mediterranean cuisine(French/Italian/Spanish /Moroccan) food
• Preferably with banquet experience
• Prefer Michelin star experience
• Solid managerial experience and knowledge in kitchen operation. This includes the knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, food and beverage management and food sanitation.

An exciting opportunity has risen for a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to join the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS) to work with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team for the project “Completing the Picture: Strengthening Fathers" Roles in Early Child Health and Neurodevelopment Through Targeted Interventions”. The SRF will be responsible for leading data-intensive quantitative research on the interactions between familial environmental, focusing strongly on comparing paternal factors with maternal and other household member factors, and the broader environment (e.g. built and natural environment) on child health, well-being, and development. The SRF will utilize skills in big data management, especially harmonizing and linking geospatiotemporal data with longitudinal cohort data, as well as quantitative causal inference and quasi-experimental techniques, to produce new scientific knowledge, write manuscripts, create presentations and reports, and brief collaborators and other stakeholders (academic, government, community, industry, etc.) as needed.
