The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI), National University of Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence dedicated to interrogating biological systems from a physical and mechanical perspective. We are a multidisciplinary institute committed to developing new paradigms for biomedical research by focusing on the quantitative analysis of dynamic functional processes.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Yan Jie’s and Dr. Alexander Ludwig’s group to work on mechanotransduction mechanisms in polarized epithelial cells. This is a highly collaborative project involving three PIs at MBI as well as the group of Alexander Ludwig at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), NTU Singapore. The aim of this project is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that sense and transmit mechanical forces from the apical surface of epithelial cells to the Hippo/YAP signalling pathway. A combination of in vitro force measurements, biochemical approaches, cell-based assays and live cell fluorescence imaging of mechanically perturbed cell monolayers will be used to tackle this question. The project and the position will begin in April 2024.

The position is for Global Vantage Innovative Group, a prestige beauty powerhouse that markets and distributes its own proprietary brands (BelleWave™, essencious by BelleWave™, SkinMTX™, and Specifix™ Professional globally) and provide OEM service for clients worldwide.

Main Duties:

• Raising sales order & do invoicing/prepare proforma invoice
• Arrange local/overseas shipments
• Local/overseas courier for document & sample for clients
• Picking calls – pertaining to customer enquires/transfer calls
• Preparing certification required for overseas shipment

Ad-hoc Duties:

• Maintain/purchase office/pantry inventory
• Receive document/packages from courier (arrange payment if required)
• Assist regulatory to prepare document for signature
• Source for forwarders for overseas shipment
• Prepare invoices for audit purpose
• Assist to arrange for hotel/flight booking (if required), organize engagement activities
• Others

Minimum Qualifications:

• O/A Levels / Diploma in Office Skills
• Min 1-2 year’s relevant experience in administrative and operations support
• Meticulous and organized, good follow-up skills and initiative
• Excellent in managing documentation and paper work
• Multitasking and able to take stress
