The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. The Weber group at SPMS, NTU is seeking a highly organized and driven Research Fellow to lead experimental efforts on low-temperature transport measurement and 2D and topological materials, heterostructures and devices.

Demonstrating capability, creativity and high-impact outcomes in low temperature experimental condensed matter physics will be a key requirement. The research fellow will be leading experimental work in an existing dilution refrigerator laboratory, equipped with a BlueFors LD250 cryostat equipped with vectorized magnet, and GHz wiring.

Other facility and protocols for crystal growth and device nanofabrication have been developed to support the Senior Research Fellow’s work.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

• PhD in MSE
• Relevant post-PhD experience in experimental condensed matter physics

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Related industry experience with an Engineering degree or diploma, preferably in Chemical/ Environmental / Process or Risk Engineering
• Possess WSHO and FSM Certificates
• Minimum 3 years of industrial experience in the relevant process plant, waste management, oil and gas, logistics industry
• Strong knowledge of Singapore HSSE related regulatory requirements preferred
• Experience in process safety and manufacturing is desired
