ScaleUp Bio is seeking highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team. The Technical Scientists will be responsible for working with fermentation scientists in developing optimized culture conditions for newly developed or existing production strains from our customers, the successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to fermentation technology. These can include strain propagation, bench top and pilot scale fermentations, operation of laboratory equipment/ instrumentation, media preparation, sample collection and analysis, as well as the analysis on the quality equipment such as HPLC, spectrophotometer, biochemistry analyser etc.The successful candidate will cover both of our facilities at our main site in Tuas (Singapore) and supporting Biopolis (Singapore) site, and will be reporting to the QA/QC Manager. The candidate will also be expected to support night shift from time to time depending on the project’s requirement. This is a 6-month contract role with possible extension.

Responsibilities

• Conducting HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis for in-process and productions samples.
• Conducting biochemical assays such as Enzymatic assays, protein quantification assays etc.
• Responsible for other analytical lab duties;
• Routine microbiological testing and cell counting of process samples;
• Microbial contamination testing of process and final product samples;
• Developing laboratory procedures and protocols for various analytical and microbiological tests;
• Cross-functionally collaborate with other quality team members, engineers and management professionals internal and external to ScaleUp Bio;

Profile

• Maintain and monitor tyre management, Facility management (Building structure maintenance, plumbing, washing bay, etc.), Bins inventory management, Post chemical management (paints, chemicals, all kind of lubricants such as engine oil, coolant AdBlue, etc.), consumables items and sludge water collection arrangements and monitoring on daily basis.
• · Maintain and monitor Fuel Management system. Streamline, monitor fuel purchase system with assistance of Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers to tally with diesel consumption report.
• · Maintain and monitor Contractor management to ensure ALBA WH assets are good in condition and maintain proper relationships with suppliers to ensure contractual commitments are met and quality of work done by the contractor.
• Ensure strict vehicle, equipment servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime, maintain schedules and compliance to all policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with different vendors to understand material purchase, sourcing contracts, bidding and to continuously innovate and bring new technologies relevant to the waste collection business.

Pre-requisites:

• Possess a valid class 4 driving licence
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays upon rotation
• Hands-on with ability to handle simple IT tools

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

· Perform various activities and tasks required in the Compression machines.

· Operate all relevant equipment, clean, assemble and maintain the cleanliness of the equipment.

· Perform and maintain the documentation of operations in accordance with cGMP requirement.

· Operate the equipment appropriately in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure / batch document.

· Perform online monitoring of in process parameters / checks throughout the batch.

· Complete all relevant records and other documentation required for packing, maintenance and cleaning of equipment in the work area.

· Perform all activities in accordance with cGMP.

· Maintain the cleanliness of work area to ensure cGMP compliance.

· Perform all other relevant duties required to meet the schedule.

· Check relevant material and product details against batch document.

· Co-ordination with Engineering for break down rectification of Compression equipment.

· Involve in equipment / process qualification.

· Participate in investigation of process deviation, cGMP and all other compliance related matters, where applicable.

· Ensure compliance to GxP / Safety / Quality policies.

REQUIREMENT

· Good understanding of safe working practices and cGMP.

· Experience in tablet compression machine or related tableting press.

· A good team player with positive learning attitude.

· Willing to work in Tuas area, in cleanroom environment with full gowning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Minimum GCE 'O' level or NITEC or Higher NITEC or Diploma in Biotechnology / Biomedical / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or relevant disciplines

· With 2-5 years of manufacturing experience in Pharmaceutical or related industries.
