1. Technical / Calibration Services

• Responsible for the calibration or repair of equipment in 1 to 2 disciplines (Dimensional, Mechanical, Electrical or Temperature).
• Set up and operate a variety of precision gages and instruments to inspect and calibrate equipment to accurate specifications and metrological standards.
• For senior positions, resolves or set up instruments to resolves more complex calibration procedures or matters that may be escalated by the junior team members. Inspect and check work of junior team members.
• Ensures all calibration reports or service reports are completed accurate on-line and on the printed reports. Responsible for reviewing the calibration results and ensuring reports are completed before submission to Approved Signatory. She/he will need to ensure these reports captured accurate data with calculated uncertainty and results correct and traceable before the approval by the Approved Signatory.
• If designated as Approved Signatory, S/he will be accountable for the completeness and traceability of the reports signed.
• For senior positions, escalates and/or discuss recurring calibration conflicts / difficulties and work closely with the Manager to identify root causes and to implement corrective actions / procedures.
• Check internal tools / equipment for performing the calibration / repair and ensure these are up to standards and to escalate when necessary.
• Work duties may be performed within laboratory environment or on multiple customers’ site on same day.
• For senior positions, assist in the scheduling of work to team members daily. S/he will also be expected to assist in correcting non-conforming actions of team members and monitors the progress.

2. Process improvements / Quality Control

• Actively participates in discussions with manager to improve and validate calibration methods / procedures with the objectives to improve accuracy and work efficiency for the department.
• For senior positions, work closely with Technical Manager, Assistant Technical Manager to identify the need to purchase equipment for improving Quality / efficiency / reducing operational costs.
• S/he is expected to participate in Internal Quality Control, Inter-laboratory Comparison and Proficiency testing Programmes.
• Maintain good safety and housekeeping

3. Team Management (for senior positions)

• Actively participates in team-bonding activities and to foster team-work / cooperation amongst team members.
• Gives immediate feedback to team members to ensure they adhere and conform to the Company’s Quality policy, regulations, Health and Safety standards and others.

Location: Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Job Duties:

• Analysis of cement, soil, aggregates, concrete and polymer samples as per standard method
• Operation of analytical instruments like UV-visible spectrophotometers, FTIR, auto titrator
• Prepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardisation of the solution used in the laboratory
• Handling and storage all chemicals as per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
• Issue reports and receive samples to and from the respective entities
• Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
• Willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution of Element Material Technology annual targets and budget

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma / Degree in Chemistry with at least 1 year experience in materials testing
• Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours if required or necessary
• Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
• Team player with initiatives with good communication skills and dedicated in responsibilities
• Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operation is advantageous

• Operate zinc diecasting machines efficiently and as planned
• Perform inspection on common wear & tear machine components and tooling condition
• Perform machine and tool troubleshooting
• In charge of guiding operators on quality requirements and identify quality issues
• Monitor quality of parts during production
• Verification of simple dimension measurements
• Record and verify process operating data and parameters
• Perform system entry of run parts after every lot completion on timely basis
• Ensure raw material is topped up on timely basis
• Maintain 6S and discipline
• Shift Work Required
• Able to work OT
• Able to lift loads less than 20kg
• Willingness to learn and positive attitude
• Any ad hoc duties as and when assigned
