We are looking for a General/Legal Counsel to act as the company’s legal representative and strategic advisor in our developments in the SEA and MENA region. Based out of the Singapore office and reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will also play a key role in advising a broad range of legal matters across the group’s international operations. Day to day scope of work will include but not limited to drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, advise on transactional disputes, employment as well as other general corporate commercial matters. The Counsel will also act as the company’s POC for all legal matters arising from the company’s commercial activities in these regions, including but not limited to: Incorporation, Leasing agreements, Employment law, tax, commercial contracts, IP and Data privacy.

Description

· Risk Management. Design and implement company policies and provide strategic advice to the Singapore senior Management

· Compliance. Establishing and Ensuring audit requirements, health and safety policies and employment law compliance.

· Contract management. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for external and internal use

· Lead global review of new products, product features, and other product-related matters to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws.

· Coordinate with Beijing and International legal team to perform multi-jurisdictional assessments in line with Group interests

· Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams (legal, data security, information security, product, business development, monetization, and regional teams).

· Provide support as needed to assist on other company initiatives (new technology implementation, internal policies, and data security efforts).

· Monitor privacy trends across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address.

Requirements

· Qualified to practice law and in good standing in Singapore, US, UK, other common law jurisdiction, or EU member state.

· 8 or more years' of post qualifications experience, at least 3 years of experience in commercial law and international contracts

· Preferably to have some experience working in a similar capacity (Startup General Counsel) or major multinational corporation

· Experience, and more importantly personal interest, in technology, social network, internet, and all things digital is ideal.

· Detail oriented that can coordinate across multiple teams/countries.

· Strong sense of problem solving and proactive work ethic.

· Determination to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while keeping a sense of humor.

• Basic Mandarin comprehension and communication is a must

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of relevant experience, of which at least 7 years of proven experience as a CTO or in a senior technology leadership role within the fintech industry.
• Demonstrated success in leading technology teams and driving digital transformation.
• In-depth knowledge of software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Able to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin with our Chinese-speaking stakeholders

1) Coordinate adhoc / consolidation booking with customer and booking of space with airline.

2) Coordinate rates quotation with airline and provide rates to sales team for quotation to customer.

3) Monitor consolidations for various destination, monitor on the space and rates.

4) Send flight schedules to customer upon confimation.

5) Arrange adhoc cargo service for customers. (Fumigation, DG declaration and packing, wooden crate packing)

6) Check uplift of shipment after lodgement to terminal.

7) Send permits and AWB to customer after flight departed.

8) Raise amendment if any to airline and destination agent.

9) Raise monitoring reports for some customer to monitor rates and load.

10) Suggest solution for customer base on their shipping needs. (Training will be provided, assistance will be given by superior.)

11) Communicate with Sales/accounts team regarding quotation and billing matters.

13) Coordinate adhoc coload booking from other coloaders.

14) To solve any problem that may arise for export cargo with destination agents.

Job Overview:
As part of the Global Markets Compliance team for Asia ex-Japan, provide compliance advisory/support to the Fixed Income segment of the Global Markets business in the Asia ex-Japan region.
Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day compliance advisory services to the Sales, Trading (Rates/FX) and Structuring desk under Fixed Income business (and their support functions, regarding the Firm’s policy and relevant rules and regulations.
• Establishing / updating policies and procedures in accordance with latest regulatory requirements and firm policy.
• Providing support in the reviewing of new product/business requests from business and advising on any necessary controls / policies & procedures which would need to be put in place.
• Reviewing escalation of alerts raised by Compliance Surveillance team.

• Participating in and providing support to regional and global compliance projects/initiatives.

Requirements:

• University-level Degree preferably in a relevant discipline (Finance, Accountancy Business, Legal)
• Minimum 7 years of working experience in Global Markets compliance or regulatory roles possessing a working knowledge of Fixed Income products and business would be required
• Experience in working in a trading floor environment with knowledge of Indian FPI business is advantageous
• Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to details and accuracy
• Good understanding and working knowledge of the local laws and regulations (Banking Act, SFA, FAA)
• Exposure to key regulatory landscape in Asia ex-Japan, the culture, policies and expectations and an ability to understand the potential impact of overseas regulatory development
• Excellent negotiating and inter-personal skills; should be a solutions driven, confident, highly motivated and organized team player who can also work independently, should possess excellent issue identification, analytical and resolution of conflicts skills.
